  • The flyer doesn't mention 25% off LEGO.

Lmfao by sale you mean decreasing the price to the actual RPP :) Almost all kitchen ware are 20% over RRP compared to HN or TGG

    • Kitchenaid and breville prices are pretty much standard across all retailers

      • +6

I don't think so, the coffee machine I bought from HN was only 1900 (RRP 2100) during 1 of their sales, while it cost 2499 RRP on Myer and now down to 1999 LMFAO with the "sale"… I just checked this for you :)

isnt that what negging bargains is for?

I agree and think it could serve as an indicator for other users to check, neg that sh*t

Why is Myer still doing PDF flyers to promote its sales? Shouldn't this be a link to their e-commerce storefront with a promotional banner at the top summarising deals? Why can't I see links and prices for individual items anywhere? I think there is a reason the Myer share price is ~$1…

get an extra 5% off lego via myer ebay ( CAU5 code )

    • technically 28.75% off lego via ebay :)

The range of Lego on their eBay store is significantly smaller though.

      • To me that is the stuff that doesn't sell very well on their own website.

  • I hate Myer "specials" with a passion.
Was in there the other day to buy something which had "30% off the original price". My item, which was of the qualifying brand, had not yet been discounted (original price). Get to the counter: no discount. I said "Isn't this the original price?". She goes "Yes, but it excludes 'hot prices'".

Seriously? Went back to the sign, and noticed roughly an A4 page worth of small print on the back.

A few years ago, one of their staff told me about their complex discounts "half the time we don't even understand it ourselves".

Yeah, you have about the same chance of finding a deal at Myer as finding Atlantis.

        Or the lochness monster

      Never mind exclusions!

What pisses me off most is when you have like 5 items and they're all discounted, there is always at least one that doesn't have a discount applied. So you have to call them out on it, every damn time. They never really undercharge you, nope, happened once, maybe. But I've been overcharged and had to call them out on it multiple times.

Myer is basically on permanent sale now. They have sale banners up all the time.

  • +3

firstly. Myer ebay doesn't have the whole range, I'm looking at your lego creator.

secondly. Myer price is RRP, aka inflated over everyday prices from kmart bigw target. Even at 25% off it's abit meh.

    • I agree, but after 25%, they're generally slightly lower than kmart/bigw/target everyday prices.
So, if you need it now and there's no other sale, it's not a bad option (or if you happen to have myer gift card to spend :))
Also, it's same for Target, not all their lego is on their ebay site (I usually buy Lego from Target ebay). It's normal practice.

BREVILLE coffee machine GONE UP $50 NOW. Been eyeing it out.

  • If it's always on sale, it's never on sale :(

    RIP Myer

Myer are done once amazon Australia hits. the only people keeping them alive now are the fashionable gal's buying their $120 paper thin garments.

seriously i gotta walk through the myer store at my local, to get through to the other stores. every now and then i like to peak at a piece of clothing i see hanging up whilst i walk through the store, and i laugh every time i see the price. hillarious

The problem is none of the big 2 - Myer nor David Jones have reinvented themselves to "keep up with the times" (as they say).
The logistics of a fully developed online presence eludes both these 'giants'.
If only they had the foresight to deploy the infrastructure needed to captivate the majority of online shoppers.
Will be interested to see how they reinvent themselves in the next 12 months, before the arrival of Amazon.
They better start thinking beyond the confines of these pathetic pseudo-'sales'…

    • Will Amazon be bricks and mortar or an online store?

Will they have one/few central place(s) like Costco, or department chains everywhere like Myer?

      • Seems Amazon's strategy is still online first. Since they don't need to spend money on brick/motor store/staffing, the $ will go where it's actually best served - i.e. customer service through delivery/warehouse stock infrastructure.

  • Too bad they don't have MDR1000x.
