210

Philips vacuum beard trimmer (BT7201) is on sale for $87 at The Good Guys. Philips also have a cashback of $20 for the model when purchased at participating retailers (doesnt include ebay plus potentially more) brings it down to $67.

I purchased from harvey norman and they price matched to the good guys. Listed between $99.95 and $129.95 at other retailers.

Just used it for the first time and did a pretty decent job at sucking up all the hairs - very little mess in the sink afterwards.

  • Is hair in the sink such a big problem?

    • +2

I think hair on the floor, on the counter, in the sink etc. is the problem.

    • +1

Yes. And it doesn't all go in the sink.

This mean you can shave when you don't have access to a sink don't want to make a mess. ie Shave on the way to meeting in the back of taxi.

According to most women I have lived with, it is.

    Philips Vacuum Beard Trimmer

I grew a vacuum beard once, it sucked…

      Champagne @jv right here!

  • I have an earlier verson of this. Still going strong after about 8 years! I'd buy again if it ever breaks. It does still leak some hairs but gets most of them. Hopefully newer one does even better.

My 7 year run came to an end last year only because I dropped it and the guard broke, no replacements avail.

Got this model now and love it just as much. Trims well and catches majority of hair. Only neg is it's harder to empty than previous model, just takes a bit longer and is a bit finicky.

Would recommend but have never tried anything else so can't say it's the best.

Good to see the suck cut is back

  • I have a similar model to this one, the vacuum barely works but overall its alright.

    Doesn't require oiling

    • I have been using a lower model of this without the vacuum for a few years. I was really happy with it except for the mess. For me (after one shave) its saved a lot of hassle. It doesnt get quite as close shave as i would get with the other one but its still good.

I believe the vaccum works better with short hair (which is generally what i would use it for)

I have a similar model it really doesn't suck much while trimming. But lucky I can use my dyson to supplement that.

  • I've had the model up from this one for a few months now (the BT7220), and it's been brilliant. Since the start of January I've probably shaved maybe 15 times, and the battery is still full.
I think the difference between the BT7220, and the cheaper BT7201 is actually the battery type, so I'm not sure you'd get quite as much life out of a single charge, but either way, bloody good trimmer. I highly recommend.

It's a really shit trimmer. Don't buy it

    • Any reason in particular? All the rest here says it's a "bloody good trimmer".

  • I got one of the higher end ones and it gets a lot of the hair but not all of it.

Having said that though, I'm very happy with it

  • Some thoughts on the shaver:
    1) This model has a Ni-Mh shaver; the battery may go flat within a couple of weeks of charging it, even without use (still, only takes 1 hour to charge)
    2) When shaving, it did snag a hair once
    3) Does anyone know where we could get a travel case for it?

  • Now comes with $10 store credit

Now a further $10 off, $57 with this deal, instead of the $10 store credit mentioned above.

  • I found an email in my junk folder
