Why reward Bunnings they are normally happy to Charge $79 - I bought a Brad Gun on line last year for $32 and it was exactly the same as the $89 model at Bunnings With they Ryobi 1+ 18v Battery power tools I buy them on line from abroad as they are double the Price in Australia , just had to buy charger from Bunnings (Bunnings are the importers and distributors in Australia of Ryobi they bought the distributing company a few years back.

      • sorry, when I commented the title was different and made me think the price at Aldi was $49.

        • +1

that's ok thanks for pointing it out when I cut and past the heading the $29.99 was left behind.

      • Who do you buy Ryobi One Plus from overseas? I looked at the AirStrike nailers (Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes etc etc) and cant find anyone other than ebay who will post to Australia, and even then postage and the exchange rate kills it.

        • My next door Neighbor is Chinese and he uses an online site that is only in Chinese and they are half the price and postage is not all that expensive Ryobi is available in many countries and Australia is the most expensive and a lot of Ryobi products are not available here.

We have a couple of Large Sunday markets here and there are Chinese sellers and their prices are often equal to online prices in China and Hong Kong so that had me thinking, that there must be sites just in Chinese where they buy from so told my Neighbor what I was thinking and his Son done the research and found the sites I guessed where there.

        • @RonaldR:
          mind sharing the links?

        • I got an airstrike from the US via ebay. Paid half the retail on it, and it's worked flawlessly so far.

@RonaldR: This could use some grammar and punctuation.

@jjcf: shit i thought you were in afganistan or something when you said you got an airstrike from US! Lol

        • @bym:bym If that is all you have to say the "F" OFF what you see is what you get when I am using Tablet or phone where you have to go to another window for punctuation

@Steptoe: Can't at the moment my neighbours son is away as it is on his computer as I just email him and he lets me know what is available in what I am looking for and prices and delivery charge and I drop the money into him with list. with the web site until person with account logs in you don't see any Photos of Products and the site does not actually carry stock it just handles the sale and the freight then some Items require a minimum qty. so I list it on Gumtree and about 50% of those call drop the money in and I just phone them when it arrives. There is another site in China I use for small items I want quickly ( this might help till I can let you know the address )

but you have to click At top of page on Ship to and then Click on Australia and AUD
Then on the Item pages you select you have to Click on the Shipping line where it says Free Shipping to Australia and it will give prices for faster form of shipping that will give you an idea on total cost , But I now just do that in check out as normally have more than 1 item in Basket .

THIS IS WHERE I HAVE BEEN BUYING MY SHOES FROM SINCE 1997
          1. You can download what you need to work out correct size.
          2. They tell you how each shoe relates to standard size
          3. You register to be on their mailing list
          4. About Twice a year you will receive an email saying they have Free International shipping – so that is the time to order and they require you to have a minimum value so normally I have to order 2 pair.
          5. When I first started shopping with them only a few stores in Australia carried the Brand and the shoes I liked and the price was around $300 but including postage I was paying around $120 till they started offering Free Shipping so have never had to pay postage since that started.

Why don't they advertise these when Lethal Weapon 2 is on TV?

    • +1

      +1 for the movie reference.

  • You may want to wait until closer to the date because Bunnings usually reduces a product of similar quality to price beat Aldi without you even having to ask. That's what the pricing team is for.

    • +5

His whole point was not to reward bunnings for having shitty prices and then just discounting because Aldi has something cheap

  • Good post and good on ya ALDI! Said it once and I'll say it again. We're all FU(t now masters is dead. Bunning is garbage, a rip off and a dishonest company imo.

    • Yeah business thrives whoever has the bigger pocket

Just waiting for amazon's arrival… there will be alot of butt hurting.

      • I am not getting excited about Amazon as we are the most priced Gouged country in the World and 2nd Highest taxed. When the media and people were talking about the New Hardware Stores Woolworths & Lowes were opening in Partnership was going to kick Bunning’s arse with cheaper prices and a better Hardware range but MASTERS has been and Gone and no wonder Lowes spat the dummy when Woolworths were forcing a closedown and end of Partnership. Lowes low price range of Power Tools in the USA were not so cheap in Australia Tools that sold in the USA $19 /$25au were selling at Masters between $99 & $120. A high quality roll of Masking tape that sold in US for $3.50/ $4.60au sold at Masters for almost $15. Masters were dearer than Bunning’s but then their Hardware range was not as extensive. But even before they started here au Aussies that do jobs at home us DIY customers, Bunnings tightened their Belt as they did not know Masters actual hardware range was way below Bunnings. So Bunnings started to thin down getting rid of so many lines. Cutting down the selection of Boards, Sheet Sizes and thicknesses
What did Amazon see in Regards to Australia? The large number of Australian Customers that kept on buying even though the American Freight companies were charging a fortune. What they saw is High Prices and High Profits.
When Sony and National (Panasonic) just naming 2 had Australian Distributors we were better off . When they sacked the Australian Distributor their products almost vanished while they were setting up but when they opened there was a price hike on their products and margins for retailers had been cut , then after that the Korean Brands and a number of Chinese and other manufacturers opened their own Distribution companies in Australia.
The First Company to do it was CBS musical Instruments in the early 70’s .They own Fender and they stopped supplying the Australian Distributors and while they were securing their other brands to distribute there was no Fender available in Australia. When CBS opened we had to apply for a distributorship and Country dealers had to travel to capital City to a trade week.
The Prices of Fender had doubled and our margins had not doubled then you could not Choose what you stocked they told you what you were going to stock you had to take the Floor plan they offered you and that was your display items and sales stock. (I pushed Gibson Guitars) and when a new Japanese manufacturer started producing incredible copies, their guitars were made with modern Machinery and I found a fender or Gibson pick up would fit snuggly and I found a supplier in the USA for Fender pickups and no longer sold Fender. Eventfully this Japanese manufacturer produced the Guitars wearing their own Brand name Ibanez. For some time we still could by them unbranded and put our own brand Names on them and we done ok as we sold cheaper as we were not building a Brand name with the Media but we played our part as Guitarist soon worked out ours was same as Ibanez till they moved away from copies. Eventually they were forced to stop making copies so that was end of their unbranded.
When I first started shopping on line I was saving a fortune but eventually as more Australians started shopping on the Internet they soon worked out most of these Idiots did not know what was a good price “THEY WERE BUYING ON THE INTERNET IT MUST BE CHEAPER” and the online Hong Kong sellers soon hiked their prices.
I think we will only get small savings with Amazon in Australia Hope I am wrong

        • Why would someone negged this, this is the truth!

        • +1

regardless of how little the saving there might be, at least it will keep Bunning honest, which Masters did as well. Also, just having a 2nd hardware player in town with a good variety of choice is good enough for me. Right now if I want to buy anything from a broom to a can of paint to a power drill… it's bunnings and no one else.
