Xiaomi Yeelight E27 Smart LED Bulb AU $14.65/US $10.99 Delivered @ GearBest

211
XYE27

Three day 'flash' sale (punny!) and a stackable promo code on these Smart WIFi Xiaomi Yeelights.

These won't tie you down to a specific brand going forward with your home automation like the Philips Hue as they run independent of a hub.

Fully compatible with IFTTT and reviewed really well online.

Enjoy :)

Update: Also, RGBW (multicolour) for AU $26.17 shipped here http://gearbest.com/smart-lighting/pp_361555.html

      how do you get $21.84?

  • So this is basically like the WeMo bulbs? You don't need the smart plug?

    • Yep

  • I want to get into smart lighting but have a house full of B22 sockets. What's the best way in? I was thinking of ordering a Philips Hue Starter Kit from Amazon UK?

    • May be waiting for Lifx to have a sale on their new gen bulbs?

    • +2

I bought an E27 to B22 adaptor for $2 from eBay

Now IFTTT only works IF you choose Singapore as your home server.
If you've got other Xiaomi products (such as the Ants cam & possibly the home hub), then you need to use the Mainland China server), So it's a P.I.T.A. if you have both.

    • I thought this light was bluetooth controlled only? Got any more info about it?

      • There was/is a bluetooth version but these are wifi.

        • +1

Wifi seems the way to go so you can sue with google home, amazon echo, etc

      • No they use wifi, and an app (either yeelight app or mi home)

Really easy to setup. I have the coloured version

Why not just use Home Assistant? Open-source, free and support for 621 components with many more in development and best of all it works even if your internet connection doesn't.

The Yeelights have gone main but the Xiaomi Smart Home gateway is still in development (though only because the main developer of the component wants to keep greater control, it's been working properly for months). I use a motion sensor to switch on a Yeelight White in the bathroom and a switch for a Yeelight RGB in the bedroom which cycles through a dozen different scenes.

It is however in development still and isn't the easiest software to set up but it's extremely powerful and well worth the learning curve.

  • Any 5500k lights on offer?

  • White light from link is still charging me AU$21.06 with and without the promo code

  • I got it for discounted price

I'd suggest using PayPal for buying protection, I ordered one of these just over a month ago and it still hasn't turned up :(

    • Hi oz-stef,could you pls pm me your order number for checking?

      • Done, sent just now

      • Are you going to do anything about it or not?

  • Why is E14 smart bulbs so rare??

I'm sorry but it appears gearbest are up to their old tricks. I have just been through PayPal resolution after gearbest failed to even communicate with me.

Based on other comments appearing on ozbargain in relation to shipping and non-delivery I think we should look long and hard at their status again.

OP this is a good deal but if you're never going to receive the item…..

    • Hi rehab,

What your meaning "gearbest failed to even communicate with me",
we have 1323 in stock, free shipping may take month to arrive, but you can choose Priority Line 7 - 15 business days $2.49 ,so you can receive it in short time.:)

      • +2

I did just that but exactly one month later (and one email), I'm still waiting for my order/response OP….

      • +2

I am talking about a different product ordered recently from GearBest. If the ozbargain members would like me to provide details of this I am more than happy to including my emails (never answered) and my PayPal dispute resolution (never responded to by GearBest)

The item I purchased also said "in stock" and then the shipping date suddenly starting being pushed out and out by weeks. I attempted to contact you via email and received no reply (x2).

I then lodged a dispute with PayPal and still GearBest did not communicate with me.

I then escalated it to PayPal for determination and I was refunded my money.

        • I had a similar issue with Everybuying (sister site) from a deal posted here on Ozbargain and on the advice of someone else PM'd there rep on here who (after the second PM) sorted it out. If there is a next time I would recommend this course of action over going through the normal channels.

        • May I have a look for your order?

    • Just pay with PayPal and make claim if there's a problem? Solved

  • I don't think the price is worth it to put up with Gearbest service. I got some from zapals.com(they don't have a working promo code at the moment) but they were $9.50usd plus about $2 shipping once you buy four or so. Came with tracking from Australia post and arrived in under 2 weeks. For the sake of a dollar or two I don't think it's worth it. The globes themselves seem to run fine, I've just used the Yeelight app but will eventually run home-assistant when I have some more time.

Despite what other people say I think they're bright enough for most rooms. The one in our bedroom is now set to 75% as default. Just note it's a cool white light and even when turned low doesn't have a warm glow.

    • Zapals.com were no better for me. Over thirty days and I am still waiting for delivery. :(

      • Yikes. Maybe I just got lucky! I ordered about 10 different items and some said they'd be 2-3 days wait and I still got it in under 2 weeks. Received tracking info yet?
