  • I know it says allow 7 days delivery. However, if I ordered to Sydney CBD, any chance it might get to me by Friday? Understandable if the answer is no as I need for the weekend.

Hey team are you really trying to take the pi$$ at $220 a stubbie.
    I think 25% off won't cut it.

    • +4

      Hey Birdyzone,

I think you're referring to Brewdog's Sink The Bismarck.

With an ABV of 41% and a big price tag - it certainly doesn't appeal to everyone.

It actually stirred up quite a debate on our Facebook page recently.

You'll find that it is $200+ at most outlets that have managed to get their hands on it.

      Cheers,
      Craft Cartel Team

      • While it's cheaper in the UK (because it's from Scotland) it's certainly a talking point. It's the strongest beer in the world. Originally it was the Brewdog Tactical Nuclear Penguin but then a German beer overtook it. Hence the name Sink the Bismark!

        http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1354411/Worlds-stron…

        • There is snake venom but brewmeister cheat like mofos!

    • 41%???? Is it beer flavored vodka?

      • +1

Haha - no, not beer flavoured vodka.

Sink the Bismarck is a quadruple IPA that contains four times the hops, four times the bitterness and frozen four times to create a massive 41% ABV.

    • +7

You can blame the excise laws for a large portion of that price but also the process used to make this beer.
They freeze it and remove the ice several times to get it up to the 41%. It's labour intensive and time consuming, hence the price.
If love to try it one day but I'm on OzBargain, so let's face it, I'm never buying one and neither is anyone else on here. 😀

      • Great explanation Moggyx - thank you!

  • Thanks Guys, only problem with 25% off a single order is I now ordered 3 cases. Oh well.

    • Hi Neophyte2,

Your fridge will be very well stocked!

We will get that beer out to you pronto :)

Thanks for shopping at Craft Cartel.

      Cheers,
      Craft Cartel Team

  • Seems it's $9.95 postage per CASE? No discount for bulk orders of more than one case?

    • Hi Swalloweda,

As much as we'd love to give discounts on bulk shipping, unfortunately it is a hard cost to us. Australia Post charges us per case - we don't make any money off the shipping fee.

We can waive the shipping if you are able to collect the beer from our store. Please see our address below:

Wenty North Liquor (aka Craft Cartel Liquor)
      26 Emma Crescent
      Constitution Hill NSW 2145

If you'd like to collect the beer please enter the coupon code: PICKUP25 at the checkout instead.

  • What's really strange is that I would have thought that the cost of the cases would be cheaper than buying 4 but it doesn't work out that way. Is something wrong?

The Dare Devil is $89 but buying the individual 4 packs is $88.20. Where is the logic?

    https://www.ccliquor.com.au/product/the-daredevil/

    • Hi Carleast,

All of our mixed cases such as the Dare Devil, Newbie, Connoisseur, Pale Ale Collection etc. come with tasting notes and we need to factor in the expense of producing them. That's why these cases are a tad more expensive.

      Cheers,
      The Craft Cartel Team

  • Do you guys carry colonial at all? I was looking for small ale by the case.

    • Hi Moggyx,

It's funny that you should mention Colonial Brewing Co! We are just about to put some of their awesome products up on the site.

We'll let you know when the beer is available and we're very happy to extend the discount for you, as they will go live after this two day sale.

We will email you a unique coupon code :) Could you please send your contact details to: [email protected]

      Cheers,
      The Craft Cartel Team

      • Done.

      • What about some of the brewers you have where you don't have an item I'm looking for? Eg you stock Riverside, but I've never seen you stock their Black Peril after it was released a few months back.

  • I didn't realise the Beechworth Pale Ale came in 16 bottle slabs, or 4 packs? Or are these 'custom' re-packs? https://www.ccliquor.com.au/product/bridge-road-beechworth-p…

    • +1

      Hi FistOfMoney,

Yes, you're right - they are 'custom' re-packs.

To view our packaging please take a squiz at our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/craft_cartel_liquor/

You'll see that the beers come in a cube shaped carton with plenty of padding around them to reduce the risk of breakage.

      Cheers,
      The Craft Cartel Team

      • Thanks. Also, only the one from Brewdog? I tried their 5 AM Saint once and really enjoyed it..

        • +1

          Hi FistOfMonkey,

Sorry for the delayed reply! We missed this comment in the thread.

We now have nine BrewDog products up on Craft Cartel including 5AM Saint American Red Ale.

You can check them all out here: https://www.ccliquor.com.au/product-tag/brewdog/

Very happy to extend a 25% discount to you on these products. If this is of interest please email: [email protected] and we will shoot you back a coupon code.

          Cheers,
          The Craft Cartel Team

        • @Craft Cartel Liquor:

Oh nice. There are a couple there I'm seriously tempted by.

  • Are you related to Beer Cartel at all? Or did you just establish a similar business with a suspiciously similar name?

    • +1

      Hi Dazweeja,

No, not related to Beer Cartel.

We've been in the craft beer game for a long time. Our bottle shop in Sydney's western suburbs has stocked over 200 beers for many years and in 2014 we installed a pretty cool growler station, so our customers could try more exciting new brews.

Taking our craft beer online was the next natural step.

      Cheers,
      The Craft Cartel Team

  • Coincided with my needing to stock up but 3 cases are coming in at $29.85 delivery to metro Sydney vs "$9.95 for deliveries to all Metro areas" in your FAQs - am I doing something wrong or is your delivery actually $9.95 per case? Happy to try you guys out assuming delivery can be sorted but (on the cases I've looked at) with the headline 25% discount you're still only marginally beating standard competitor pricing.

So, by way of example, Young Henry's Real Ale $60.10 ($45 after discount - https://www.ccliquor.com.au/product/young-henrys-real-ale/) for 16 vs $72 for 24 ($48 for 16) standard pricing from Young Henrys themselves (https://shop.younghenrys.com/products/real-ale-tinnies). Young Henrys also offer free shipping for orders over $100. So even with the discount, you'd be better off buying directly if ordering > 1 case. Comes across as inflated pricing to achieve a headline discount TBH. This simply meant as honest feedback.

Appreciate this may be an oddity and happy to be shown otherwise or have other bargains pointed out. Cheers.

edit: Just realised you've already confirmed $9.95 per case so you can ignore it but suggest you update your FAQ to be more specific

    • Annan. Thanks for the message. As much as we'd love to give discounts on bulk shipping, unfortunately it is a hard cost to us. Australia Post charges us per case - we don't make any money off the shipping fee. We will update the FAQs to make this clearer.

We can waive the shipping if you are able to collect the beer from our store. Please see our address below:

Wenty North Liquor (aka Craft Cartel Liquor)

We completely understand where you're coming from regarding pricing. Yes, it can be cheaper to buy cases directly from the brewery. What we pride ourselves on is giving our customers access to a wide range of products from many breweries, available at a competitive price. As I'm sure you would appreciate with such a large range of products, deals will be better on some products than others. With over 400 products on range, it's the nature of the beast.

We appreciate your honest feedback. We have taken it on board as it is very helpful in assisting us to improve the customer experience.

      Cheers,
      The Craft Cartel Team
