  • Can't seem to find info about condition/restriction. Is it valid for no free list, Sat after 5 etc..

    • -1

The fact that it doesn't state those condition's suggest that legally they don't exist.

      • There are conditions stated on the website:
Ouffer expires June 2011. Tickets not redeemable on Saturdays after 5PM. Valid at regular cinemas only.

        • +1

They must have just added the last 2 lines in. That restriction wasn't there this morning!

          • -2

@Obs: Yeh, should've bought them straight away and than see if they try and enforce the restrictions.

            • @tomsco: Hehe, someone's got it out for me :p

PS. You missed 4 comments below.

  • you're better off putting the referral link in your desc rather than in the image field

We're giving you $5 in Ouffer credit for every friend that you refer as soon as he makes a purchase within 72 hours. We want to show you our appreciation for spreading the word and making sure that the group buying power of Ouffer stays strong. The $5 is credited to your account and never expires so you can use it whenever you'd like!

NOT $1 as you said ?

    • Nah it's definitely only $1. Here's an email I got:

Your friend [email protected] just made a purchase on Ouffer. We've sent you $1 in credit for referring him. Keep on sharing Ouffer love!

      And from the website:
We're giving you $1 in Ouffer credit for every friend that you refer as soon as he makes a purchase within 72 hours. We want to show you our appreciation for spreading the word and making sure that the group buying power of Ouffer stays strong. The $1 is credited to your account and never expires so you can use it whenever you'd like!

      • yes. my mistake.

        $5 is for Sydney
        $1 for Melbourne.

        Wonder why the difference

        • +4

Melbourne people have more friends? :D

          • @undercut: From what I have read, the deals are:
a, if you refer a friend to sign up and purchase within 72 hours, you get $5 credit (see link that says "Referrals get you $5" at the top of the screen under "more cities")
b, if you refer the deal to a friend and they purchase within 72 hours, you get $1 credit
            They have different referral URLs.

Undercut, you will get more credits if you refer a friend to sign up, and then access the deal. But it's a process to get the new users to navigate to the deal.

Vendor set a maximum quantity of purchases to 1 per account. Please reduce the quantity.

They should at least allow 2 / acc.
Now I should refer my wife lolz.

    • Do it! Go for the $1 credit :p

    • Not many people go to the cinemas by themself! It's a bit lame if they are only offering one ticket!

  • -3

"Only members in Victoria can purchase and will be sent this Ouffer"

Put this in the title and don't waste our time.

    • +1

wow hate to be all negative and bitchy…

Edit: and you must have time if you are able to look at OzBargain during working hours…

  • Strange order process. You have to make sure you enter your postal address and three referral emails at the end (in the pop up box) in order to complete/finalise the order. I suspect this is going to catch a few people out.

    • Most email accounts allow you to place full-stops in your email address.

Example: If your email address is [email protected]
You can write your email as
      [email protected]
      [email protected]
      [email protected]
      [email protected]

It will all end up in your inbox. So instead of spamming your friends, you can just fill in your email 3 times with full-stops in between.

Got caught out on this as well. Not very happy about having to advertise the site just to get what I had already paid for.

      • I doubt if you have already paid for it that they would withold the tickets from you.

  • Has anyone bought the ticket? Did you get your $5 credit back? Mine is still showing $0 credit after purchase.

  • I bought it but haven't gotten the $5 credit, no. Perhaps they'll add it after the deal ends.

  • Wow, I got it for just $1! Thanks :)

    • Elaborate?

    • I didnt refer on to anyone. Got $5 credit used $4 of it & it came to a total of $1!

  • "You've been credited $5 for referring your friend who just made a purchase an Ouffer!‏"
You lie, you get $5, not $1!

    • I got $1 for referring someone.

    • +1

As I explained above, I'm only getting $1 per referral. I would have skipped town with all my ouffer cash already otherwise.

      • well you guys are doing it wrong lol

        • The reason why you are getting $5 in because you are in Sydney.
Melbournians only get $1. (Change your city from Sydney to Melbourne, and you would see the value drop)

          • @amkssg: Even when i change the city to MElbourne it stays at $5 credit.

  • +1

    they spelt offer wrong

  • time to watch inception now

  • Does anyone know if the movie tickets bought have an expiry date?

    • June 2011

  • Good deal.

  • I found that when I signed up a new account, I entered 2 tickets as the quantity then was prompted to give a survey response about what I thought of Sydney. I clicked the "back" button in my browser and the 2 tickets held without a problem (the credit card icons appeared, so it was possible to buy them).

If I changed the quantity from 2 to anything > 1, the message about restrictions to a single ticket applied. I'm not sure what would happen if you entered multiple tickets and then made the payment - it looks like it would go through successfully…

  • Thanks for the post OP, you've got a referral :)

Have no idea about the $5 free Ouffer credit coming back but at this price im not concerned

  • I got a $5 referral credit too (from Melbourne). Haven't received the $5 they offered as part of the deal though.

However, I just checked my bank account and it's saying $7 in card authorisation?! Anyone else seemed to get charged more than $5?

    • Used Paypal and it came out right at $5 so doesn't seem to be an error of Ouffer.

Do you have a limited amount of withdrawals before you get charged extra? Maybe its that

      • Your post appeared on OZB's main page under "Recent Comments". It only displayed the first few words, i.e. "Used Paypal and it came out".

I know paypal is gay when it comes to dealing with problems, but….

      • I use ING Orange Everyday and I used the visa (debit) option via paypal. Orange Everyday has no withdrawal fees usually… Odd. I'm hoping it's just checking I have enough funds on my card or something and will return the $2 after the check!

        • The $7 card authorisation has eventually disappeared. However, I was charged $5.13 in total. Apparently $0.13 for a foreign purchase, despite the paypal transaction record saying $0.00 in foreign purchases. For $0.13, I probably will not bother disputing this fee with ING…

I have previously disputed $2 previously though (with another bank).

  • I bought this yesterday, and paid by Paypal. But the site didn't make me enter my postal address (it asked at one stage, but when I chose to pay by an existing Paypal account that option disappeared)… I'm now worried I won't get sent the voucher. Anyone know how they will post it out to me?

I have sent Ouffer 2 emails already about my concern, but no response yet.

    • On the Ouffer's question page they mention that they ask you for an address if it didn't come through the first time, you'll be alright

      • OK thanks for the reassurance. I didn't see the question page mentioning that they will ask for an address though - where does it say that?

        • If it helps, both my wife and I who purchased these tickets received an email today advising us they did not have our mailing addresses, so they do seem to be following up if they're missing the details.

  • Have anyone received their tickets?

    • I think they said it takes 2 weeks?

  • Can someone tell me how the heck I purchase them
    PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • I sent Ouffer two emails 4 days ago about my purchase, and still got no reply - anybody bought from Ouffer before? Are they legit?

    • They've been published on this site before without any scandal, so I'd say they're legit. Possibly a small operation though to cut on costs. I'm sure you'll get an email eventually, and everyone will get their tickets.

  • Where is the link to buy the tickets????????????????

  • Has anyone got their tickets yet? Im still waiting….

    • "Vouchers will be mailed within 2 weeks of purchase"

  • i got an email saying mine were canceled.
I did use multiple emails thou…

  • 2 weeks is up and mine has not arrived yet has anyone got theirs??

  • +1

I still have not received mine, just as well I paid with Paypal
cos if they don't arrive soon I will ask for a refund.

  • haven't received either

  • Haven't got mine either. What's the deal??

  • Neither. I'm expecting by the end of this week hopefully!

  • +4

I still havent got mine. I will open a paypal dispute if i dont get it in the mail tomorrow.

  • still no tickets in my mailbox..

    Just got this email:

    Hi Cherished Ouffer Member,

We just wanted to update you that all the Village Cinema tickets should be mailed out by Friday and you should receive them early next week! We hope you're enjoying Ouffer!

    Cheers,

    The Ouffer Team

    • You seem surprised that they are actually sending it to you lol.

    • ditto

  • lol, they really should have said something along the lines of, 'we are SORRY for the delay, but". Not even an apology in the e-mail

  • Just sent them a email to ask for my ticket

    • I have done that too but no reply.

      • Quoting from the email they sent everyone:

"We just wanted to update you that all the Village Cinema tickets should be mailed out by Friday and you should receive them early next week! We hope you're enjoying Ouffer!"

ie. you should receive them in a few days. They have already told you that it has JUST been sent out, obviously they won't reply your email. Still, I am v pissed that they took so long.

        • I don't know about others but I did see an Ouffer coupon the other day I was interested in but decided not to purchase it because I'm still waiting for my movie ticket and feel their company has lost my trust until such time as it arrives.

Given the number of competitors in their market, it seems unwise for them to have such sloppy behaviour in (1) not delivering promptly and (2) failing to apologise for the delay.

          • @moooooooo: I got that email, however am still waiting. I will never buy anything off them again. This is terrible service. This was only valid for melbourn residents, imagine if australia wide could get this we'd be waiting months!

  • I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY TICKETS OR AN EMAIL. HOWEVER I HAVE RECEIVED 37 EMAILS ASKING IF I WANT TO PURCHASE A TICKET….HELLO YOU CAN ONLY PURCHASE ONE, AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT. I REFUSE TO PURCHASE ANY OUFFER OFFER UNTIL I RECEIVE MY TICKET.

  • Still haven't received anything. I bought these in the false hope I would get them within a couple of weeks. Pathetic service.

    • Neither have I, they said early this week, which means yesterday/today. But still nothing. I have opened an paypal dispute against them so will just get my money back.

  • +1

Wow, this is really taking its time. I think this offer has tarred their reputation badly, considering that all their other vouchers are usually just printable.

  • I recieved my 2 today

    • So did I. Purchased 26th Aug, received 22nd Sep. I doubt I'll use them again.

  • Has anyone not received theirs yet?

  • I have not yet received these and am considering filing a Paypal dispute. So has everyone else done this already (figure it might strengthen my case if a few other people have already lodged a complaint)?
