Interested in Buying Mercedes-Benz GLA 250

Hi Guys,

I am interested in buying MB GLA250 the driveway price is listed as 65.5K as per link

I have been to a couple of dealerships and have ringed a few. Most of them have listed it for 69-70K. After discount is offering around 62K.

What is the best price I get for 2016 model? The new 2017 which includes the facelift is due in a couple of months, so I am trying to negotiate the 2016 model only a few left around NSW for under 59K is it fair? Can I get more discount of should I wait for the 2017 model?

Thanks

  • Better off posting on a Whirlpool thread to find out what price people are getting it for with options/etc.

IMO wait until the new one comes out if you're happy with the pre-facelift assuming there's still stock of the spec you want.

    Buy a Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI R-Line,.
look about 1000x nicer and isnt as dated as the Merc

As a current GLA owner, go the Tiguan. Honestly. I love my car and have had no major problems (small things fixed under warranty), but the Tiguan is so much more car for the money (if you're stuck on the German feel of car). I've had my car for almost 2.5 years, so the new Tiguan was not a choice for me back then. Bigger car, more practical; Tiguan even edges ahead technology-wise (Active Info Display ie. digital instrument cluster).

I think the only difference would be the dealer treatment. My MB dealership is fantastic, but I've heard a lot of crappy VW dealer stories! I'd also say the wait time for a 162TSI R line Tiguan will be just as long (if not longer) than the Merc (if you're ordering the exact spec you want, of course). Something to consider anyway.

  • It's worth checking if your employer is on the MB corporate program. You get complimentary 3 year service and a few other goodies with that, on top of what you can negotiate with the dealer yourselves. I have a 2016 GLA (bought this time last year) and am very happy with it, no issue whatsoever so far. Can't compare with the Tiguan as I've never been inside one. The other thing is make sure you buy one that is made in Germany, they started making some GLA in Brazil late last year. Not sure if any of them are intended for the Australian market but hey if you are paying premium price for a German brand, it better be made in Germany.

    • Great point for the OP. I'm on the MB corporate program also which sweetened the deal.

    • If you don't mind what price did you pay for the GLA last year.
