Lowest Cost iPad 32GB

Evening,
I am looking to purchase an Ipad (new generation) 32gb and take hold of it by the end of this week. What's the best deal out there at the moment? Got excited at the AMEX $50 cashback at HN but it excluded Apple :(
Cheers

  • I bought a couple of refurbished 16GB iPad Air 2's from Apple in December for $469 each. Needed them for the kids' school BYOD program. Still expensive but it was the least costly AND the best warranty coverage (same as new product). Dunno about 32GB models.

    • Isn't the new 32 gig model dropped to around that price now?

  • I remember when AMEX had the same HN cashback offer last year, quite a few people mentioned they had purchased an Apple product and AMEX credited the cashback into their account.

Not that I'm guaranteeing you will definitely receive the cashback - just leaving it there as it's highly likely if you make an Apple purchase it will be tracked and you will receive the cashback. This is because AMEX will have no clue what you had purchased, they will only know how much you paid. So as long as you meet the minimum $350 spend, I'm fairly confident their systems would automatically trigger the eligibility of the cashback offer.

Alternatively, if you're a student you can get it from Apple's HED Educational Online Store for $30 cheaper ($439 Delivered). They don't check student eligibility so anybody can order from there. Make sure to use CashRewards to bring it further down to $432. Link to Apple HED Store here.

Also if you're travelling overseas within 60 days of purchase, you can take advantage of TRS at the airport and claim GST, thereby bringing the price even lower. More info here.

    • Wow thanks so much for your post. You make a good point about the HN amex deal.
I ended up purchasing gift cards from myer (10% bonus gift card) to effectively get 10% off. In addition they gave us a $20 gift card but i thibk it can only be used to purchase certain branded things
