Seems to be only NSW restaurants

    • +9

Vivid Sydney offer - you know, when they want people to go out in the middle of winter by putting some pretty lights on all our buildings

  • +1

I am probably blind or something but, where are we meant to "Sync your Card"?

    • +3

Yeah, they mean sync it in the Harbour as you go for Vivid Sydney …
You'll save more than $20. Trust me.

  • +1

Unable to find where I am suppose to 'Sync your Card'…….found the T&C's site and again useless information…..
"We do not accept any liability if you cannot sync your Card for the program or if it is unavailable, interrupted or suspended for any reason. If you cannot sync your eligible Card or access any of the pages, please try to access it again later."

  • +1

According to the official terms and conditions:
    • Card Members must sync their Card on dimmi.com.au/amex.
    • Card Members must sync their Card prior to booking and dining at the participating restaurant.

I cannot find the page or offers to sync the offer. I have also tried Amex and checking "Amex Offers". Not there either.

  • Where are the Victoria restaurants?

  • Cannot find the link to sync the Amex card.

  • +1

I suspect many people may be already linked via this deal last year (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278234)
The link to sync was listed in that deal and I think still works (says I'm already synced): https://www.dimmi.com.au/redirect-to-amex-sync?dimmiReturnUr…

    • Thanks. Mine is already synced. Looking at the terms and conditions , it doesn't have to be located within the vivid area. Just any AMEX participating restaurants will do.

So in theory, you can book a restaurant flash 50% off offer and as long as you spend over $50. You get extra $20 back. That's a pretty good deal.
I hope I got that right.

Edit: Nope I got it wrong. Ignore me.

  • Could be perfect for mother's day.
Just signed up to Dimmi but can not log in.

  • Anything on the Gold Coast?

  • click 'go to deal' then 'click here to go back to the amex offer' then sync your card

It confirms that your card is synced & use by 30th june 2017 BUT the email I received says valid until 31/12/2016 not sure why

    • Yeah email says 31/12/2016 or 25,000 bookings too.

  • Synced using instructions posted by ozibargainer
    Used bank issued amex
    Getting same 2016 end

  • +1

Dimmi also does 50% off your food at some restaurants so might be able to combine the 2 offers.

    • i wonder if you can… .

    • I thought you can. But you couldn't stack the offers. If you check the link above of participating restaurants, they have a different offer from the 50% off.

  • +1

how do you know which restaurants are eligible?

    • Use the test link - DO NOT make your boooking.

  • I don't yet have a dimmi account… doesn't seem to be any sign up or referral bonus for existing users?

  • +8

Massive 4 resturants in Perth participating!

    • +1

      And they're all bloody expensive..

      • Apparently, Laputa bailed out…so now only 3….

        • Companies who do that make me want to avoid them in the future. Along with those eBay sellers who jack up their prices whilst having an eBay 20% off sale.

        • +1

          @t25:

laputa is being a real puta

  • I linked my Amex card using the link above, but I didn't read the information fully before acting. Did I (profanity) up by using the link? As it says don't use to register, so linking is still ok?

I did get a confirmation from Amex saying it went well.

Ultimately it doesn't matter as there are no participating stores in the ACT

    • That's not correct, Buvette from ACT is participating

      • Ok cool - when I last looked I couldn't find a link for Canberra. Good to know if that has been updated

  • Some decent offerings for sydbey

    Thanks OP

    Update:

The deal is currently not active - when it is (which may not be until next Tuesday), registration/syncing will be available at http://dimmi.com.au/amex

In the meantime, possible participating restaurants can be previewed at https://www-test-responsive.dimmi.com.au/links/amex-offers, but do not register/book through there as it is a test link

Don't forget that this deal could be combined with:

AmEx payment via Liven may not work

  • This is a shame:

An eligible Card Member may only sync one eligible Card per Dimmi account.

Ah well, need to create a few Dimmi accounts then (or perhaps sync one card first & then swap for another after the credit has been issued)…

    • +1

Last time I booked a few places and got the credit back each time - I don't think it's capped at one credit!

  • Anyone know if we can make restaurant booking now for date during the offer period? Seeing as the test link shows participating restaurants and I don't see anything in the T&Cs which states bookings must be made after certain date, I thought this could work for those who already synced card with last deal.

  • +1

The Melbourne restaurants are crap compared to Sydney. I wonder if they will add more similar to their last deal

    • +1

Did you check it out today? There seems to be heaps more than the last deal.

  • -1

Shame there are no regional restaurants.

    • I've found some in Albury and Ballarat? Don't know if that is helpful!

      • thanks - deal updated :)

        find any extra special offers?

      • thanks, but I was looking for Geelong.

  • +4

    Four places in Adelaide only.

    Restaurant Orana
    Level One @ Electra House
    TGI Fridays - Marion
    The Lakefront Bistro West Lakes

  • I can't see where it says the offer is only available once per card. So can you make multiple bookings and get the credit for each booking?

    • yes - as long as you're within the first 15,000 :)

    • Have you actually done it this time around and got credit? I mean, have you synced your card once, booked twice at the same restaurant on different days and got 2 x $20 credits?

  • Is this inclusive of booze? Typically Dimmi offers are food only - couldn't find any mention of alcohol being excluded!

    • it's more an AmEx offer, rather than a normal Dimmi one, so yes - and even if not, like AmEx offers that exclude gift cards, they don't know what you're buying on your card :)

  • Can anyone answer if on one booking, can I use two synced Amex cards (mine and partner's) by splitting $100 payment as $50 each? Will we get 2x 20 credits back?

    • no - only one synced card per booking can receive $20 credit back :(

      • I don't see why you can't make two bookings and then ask the attendant to split the bill.

  • +3

    Nothing good in Melbourne.

    • sorry but that's good for the rest of us :)

which places would you have liked?

      • 'rest of us' is a big call. It's limited to just a handful of places that I typically don't go to + restricted times. I'm sure it's good for some but overall it's nothing special compared to the 'regular' $50/$20 Amex deals.

        • It's limited to just a handful of places that I typically don't go to

good opportunity to visit them if cost was the reason against :)

          restricted times

AmEx credit deal has no restricted times :)

    • +1

There seem to be about 70 or 80 restaurants in Melbourne - are you looking in the right place?
      https://www.dimmi.com.au/restaurants-melbourne/tag-amex-spen…

      • Interesting thanks. I just followed the mobile link which was only showing 4.

  • Nothing good in Perth, Only 5 restaurants to choose from :(

    • I noticed that too! And nothing special either.

  • Does anyone know if this will only work for the exact date/time of my booking?
I'd like to use this offer for breakfast but the restaurant only allows reservations for dinner.

    • you sure there's no breakfast tab?

      • Walk-ins only unfortunately.

  • Can we use this more than once as long as they haven't reached their 15,000 bookings?

    • Yep!

      • Can it be used multiple times on the same restaurant say on different visits?

  • Just used my $20 Dimmi voucher (earned with the extra 9,000 points given in the last Dimmi deal), and stacked with the Amex $20 back from $50 offer. The restaurant took off the $20 Dimmi redemption however nothing yet on Amex statement about their $20 cashback…. will wait for the 5 days fingers crossed.

    • same.

its been over 5 days and still nothing on the cashback. Have you had any luck?

      • Yep I got it back in my Amex statement! So pretty happy.

      • Nothing on my end and it's been over 3 weeks - I guess it's time to contact Amex ..

  • Synced card and dined at participating restaurant 7/6… still no sign of the credit. Is this going to be a 90-day wait?

    • I used my card on the 9/6 and got the credit within 2 days.

  • I used my card on 25/06 & got credit today. cheers
