This isn't bad if you just want to replace an old console, considering how recently it was released.
I paid $350 for mine at Harvey Norman when it first came out (they were priced at $399, I got the $50 off all electrical coupon from here).
I don't think the console alone will get any cheaper than this even for the Christmas sales, though you may do better with some of the bundles.

You can just walk in and ask them do you a deal on extra games/hardware, and generally get the same value as a bundle, only with what you want.
I got a play and charge, an extra controller bundle (with play and charge) and a copy of Gears of War 2 (something to play while waiting for Halo: Reach) for $520. Add in the gift cards i got for mine and my missus phones ($100 each) and all up only cost me $320. Not too shabby i thought.
This is definitely a good price if you're after the new slimline model. I just bought a discontinued elite bundle from JB so i'll pass on this(not that i need the bigger harddrive or wifi anyway).
Yeah I upgraded not three months after getting my first XBox, a $199 arcade with hard drive, controllers and games on top. I pulled the trigger so soon because it's smaller, quieter, cooler, presumably less prone to hardware failure and… black.
Fits in with all my other sound system components!
If only you could get it in matt black.
