I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and have a Switch, but I don't understand why some people are willing to pay over $50 for a game of tetris…

    • +3

      $45 from target ;p

    • +4

There's actually a ton of content in there. And Puyo Puyo too.

      • +3

Dr robotics mean machine (puyo puyo) will be 1 dollar in 2 weeks as part of the steam summer sale

  • Are these the bluetooth xbox one controllers? (the xbox one s controllers)

    • Affirmative

  • Portal Knights.. So under-rated and at a bargain price.. Can't wait for the co-op fun!

    • Its around $14 on PC, but its still in early access atm. Ill be getting it on PS4 anyway

      • Yeah I'm getting it on PS4. Pre-ordered the Gold Edition and EB have said they'll price match the cheapest price on launch day. So far that's $49. Winning!

  • Did Injustice 2 come with an arcade stick like the first one?

    https://i.ytimg.com/vi/-5MjK6pq3g0/maxresdefault.jpg

  • Mafia III for $35? It's almost cheap enough to pull the trigger.

    • I found it a bit of a bore. Once you're 30% into the game it just repeats itself. Soundtrack can be a bit grating too IMO, hope you're into cliche vietnam era soundtracks.

  • in store only?

  • Is that the only gaming page, anything for Fire Emblem?

  • That Ps4 pro looks tempting but going to wait it out for the scorpio :/

    • +6

yer I thought this too but games like Uncharted, The Last of us 2 etc make you buy a Playstation

  • +2

I read PS4 Pro + Horizon for $399…. would have bought it at that price.

Don't mind waiting for a Pro Slim though. The Pro is too chunky.

    • +3

Not that i care - but down voted?

      • +2

Not sure mate, maybe because you talked down on the Pro? That's not really Australian..

        • +2

I'm really not talking down the Pro. I want one! I just thought I saw the title for a Pro AND Horizon for $399 and got excited. But I need to wait until its in my price range, as I already have a PS4 anyway.

I would really like a Pro Slim though so I hope they announce something at E3, as I said its a bit chunky/bulky and it just seems like the later iterations of consoles generally have better design e.g. PS2, PS3, DS Lite, 2DSXL, Vita Slim, they all improve on the initial model. So if I got downvoted for saying the pro is chunky, well I'm explaining myself.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is fun, even with the demo can get alot of replay, many hours, I can only assume theres many many hours worth in the full game,
nice price for retail. Classic Tetris and the Alternative Japanese one, one of the better Japanese games compared to all the poor anime ones and jrpgs.

I'd skip Horizon Zero Dawn, its just a by the numbers below average Far cry clone style open world, no point spending the money on it,

with had plenty of those before, not worth it. I mean techically the budget was high, but from a game standpoint, nah its too expensive, wait til its sub $20.

Buy Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels, alot of value for your money. The game plus the expansions. Alot of strong content on Xbox, Nintendo platforms currently.

    • +4

Dude, I also LOVE Xbox and Nintendo but also all things gaming -
Did you even play Horizon, because I LOVED it!
I do not have a ps4 at the moment, as my pro conked off, but let's not fanbow this thread - please .

      • -6

I dont do Console Wars, its not worth it, just giving an honest take!, im not a "gamer" just a game fan. Video games are not that important anyway.

Not sure what a Fanbow is, i assume its like a rainbow.

Just giving a fair take. Video games are for kids so it doesnt matter either way.

        Cheers, have a good one.

        • +5

          fanboy - typo - happens.
Video games are for kids so it doesnt matter either way. - really - so, why do we have a R18+ rating then, may I ask?

        • -1

@shiraj: To appease the special interest groups. You'd be suprised how many kids still get those games. They always have. Cheers.

        • +5

@BNN: Just because kids easily get hold of those content doesn't mean they aren't for adults. "You'd be surprised how many kids still get" to watch 18+ Horror movies and Porn, which doesn't mean they aren't adult content. Your logic makes no sense.

        • -4

@newsynthetic: They make those edgy games so the teen/tween crowd will get excited for it, because they see it as controversial stuff, edgy or graphic. Cod and GTA has done it to major success. Theres a reason they advertise on buses, etc at prime times of the day when kids are going to school or going home. On kids stations too. Ironically the sensationalism is used by companies to attract youth to buy the products.

It is what it is. Mortal Kombat was getting kids to the genre for the novelty of a fighter with graphic violent video games. Ask alot and when they started playing.

The hobby was and is for kids, it doesnt mean adults cant enjoy, the numbers are definitely inflated though.

        • +2

@BNN: I think your living and thinking in the past, games primary target kids but doesn't mean they aren't going to be adult-focused content. This goes for any media content.

        • -3

@newsynthetic: "Adult" has been used to get the teen/tween crowd wanting edgy content and occasionally to appease adults that can sometimes be a bit insecure about certain types of content, occasionally something also used in America to market.

But the "labels" really have multiple uses and stop Special interest groups from harassing the games/entertainment industry (at times).
Then again, not that certain games didn't receive bans at one point, again lobby groups sometimes meddle in the affairs of industries.

        • +2

For kids majority of gamers are 30+ dont no where you got that information from :/

        • -1

@stussy: Those numbers are skewed, cant trust those stats, adults have to work, kids/teens have alot more time to play. Toys and games are next to each other in large retail stores for a reason. People can enjoy them, but its healthy to see them for what they are.

        • @BNN:

Could be but majority of people i no game maybe not as much but still game.

Also depending on what store big w yes but target and kmart near mine toys are way apart from the electronic/game department

        • @stussy: Target they're right there with the toys. Video games are within that category, along with the Amiibo, Skylanders, Disney figures too. I saw em the other day.

Rumor has it Microsoft may be making their own exclusive version of sad content, very much reinforces the concept of "sandbox" games.

        • +1

          @BNN:

The target at Wetherill park the toy section is at the front of the store where as the gaming/electronic is at the back way apart like i said depending on the store as for the figurines yes they will be near the games as they are part of the gamez :)

        • @stussy: That is certainly possible, the ones i been to had em next to each other. I don't think theres anything wrong with them there, it makes sense for those looking to get gifts too.

Xbox fanboy comment is obvious… horizon is one of the highest rated games this gen and for good reason as it's great fun. You definitely haven't played it.

      • -2

Nah i like all types of games, im not a "gamer" just a game fan. Highest rated means nothing, its for marketing, they wanted to "sell" a title against the Zelda title for console war narratives. Theres alot of fluff titles this year that are being praised for shallow reasons.
Reality is if it wasnt exclusive to PS, it wouldnt have received the very inflated praise, its a below average, by the numbers far cry open world game, though they wish to push it, to push the platform for marketing. We've seen titles exclusive to other platforms that were bashed for doing far more and were far more engaging from a gameplay point. The game is a visual tech demo lacking in the gameplay department, like alot of Sony exclusives like Uncharted 4. Either visual engine displays or interactive movie cutscene games.

Alot of ps titles have received inflated scores this gen for marketing purposes, means nothing. I like Playstation, im just honest about the games this gen. I get there are alot of Playstation obsessed online and on Ozbargain that care alot about the platform for whatever reason, perhaps "popularity". I Dont really go for popular or niche for the sake of it.

Gaming isn't really important enough to care about for me to claim to be a "gamer", average joe just plays a bit of everything. It would be like claiming to be a "movier" for watching movies. Cheers, lad.

  • Just called a BigW store in Sydney … apparently they haven't seen it come in yet into their store?

    • Sale starts in 3 days time !

      • Got it :)

  • Horizon zero dawn has the best facial and eyes expressions from game I've seen so far.

  • can I combine this with the %5 off woolworths e-giftcard from cashrewards?

That would make it $474.05 for the bundle.

  • Need the Farpoint bundle with the gun controller, no bundle at bigW?

I want the PS4PRO but my projector is only 1080 :'(.

Can't wait for 4K projector prices to come down.

    • Same, I'm tempted to get the Optoma UHD60 which is going for $US2700. It's 4K and HDR but doesn't support wide colour gamut. Maybe next year we will get a full featured native 4K projector for sub-$US3,000? I hope so.

      • Yeah probably it was only a few years ago that 10-20K was the norm for a 4K projector,

  • if only we could swap out the game for bf1 pr uncharted 4

    • -1
