Go to gumtree or eBay people always sell their fitness last memberships on there…. for a good reason - the club is terrible, expensive and the sales people are insanely resilient

  • I dunno about fitness first… My friend just checked them out and then said she didn't want to join, they'd pretty much signed her up already and she had a bit of a hassle getting out of it. Find a local club, they're usually better value.

On the other hand, if you call them/go in and see them, say you're interested but DONT sign up and ONLY give them your email address (not phone number, or theyll stalk you) they might end up offering you discounts on membership options to get you in… but be careful :S

If we had those salespeople at FF as soldiers, we will be able to win any wars. They never give up.

I like the fact that you can go anywhere and use their club, but it is way to expensive. crossfit for the win.

  • im on $29/fortnight. reckon its the best value ever! and you have the admit the club facilities are top-grade
i dont think you'll be able to get this deal, i signed up before the Westfield doncaster gym even opened, and am a founding member

    • I pay 360 a year for a non FF membership - you are still getting ripped off!

  • Mattliu: The best thing about a fitness first sales person is that they always make you feel like you got an amazing deal. My wife signed up to a FF gym about 6 weeks ago… she has exactly the same deal.

I would avoid FF because I have previously had to threaten legal action before to cancel a membership. While you may feel like getting trim now, you may not in 8 weeks, and you dont want to go through what they make you go through to cancel.

    • was it a platinum membership? I entirely understand what you're saying though

My girlfriend joined FF because the salesperson told her it was a month-to-month membership, not a 24month contract
She called them back a month later to cancel, and had to argue with the manager to have it cancelled.

Luckily i havent had any problems. Already been with them for over 2 yrs, so im off contract
