Looking for a decent 4.7" max phone (eg Samsung A3, Sony Compact)

Hi all,

I need to buy a smaller mobile as a gift. Most people go large these days (I had the original Note and I prefer them large myself).

Sony:
Z3 compact (too old to buy new although dodgy ebay sellers suggest they have new stock - surely it's a refurb).
Z5 compact (same issue as Z3 from what I can tell
X Compact (This is the latest model from what I can tell but sourcing stock here is still near impossible).

Samsung:
A3 2017 (not sold here). Kogan sells for 350 but it is not a Band 28 model :(
Older A3 (prefer the newest one with fingerprint scanner , 2GB RAM as don't want to give a dud.

Can anybody please suggest where I can pick up any of these or a decent alternative for a good price (e.g. $400 or less I guess).

I am not against going grey import but every seller seems dodgy..

    Recently got an X Compact from DSE eBay (Kogan) on a 20% deal. Love the phone, seems much snappier than the Z5 Compact (PM me if a second hand Z5c in very good condition appeals to you!)

    The X Compact curved screen is proving really difficult to find a screen protector for and shipping various types from O/S takes ages.

      Thanks. I would buy used if it was for me but this is a gift so it needs to be new.
      I saw that the X compact was out of stock at kogan yesterday.
      It is good to know that you like it though. Perhaps it will come back in stock.

      Thanks, I found an X Compact at CEX which was Grade A.
      Unused headphones, immaculate condition. You wouldn't know it was used.
      $400 but with 24 months warranty :)

      Problem solved :)
