Hisense 50K3300UW 50" 4k UHD Smart TV $598 @ Retravision

500

Great budget 4k tv, one of the only 4k tv's at this price point to support HDR.

Was able to price match with appliances online, for easier delivery, since i live in NSW (Edit: Seems like AO is now out of stock)

https://hisense.com.au/product/50-uhd-series-3/

As noted by HeXa Below. HDR probably isn't available out of the box, and will require you to update to the latest UK/French/Italian version. Only drawback are that a few aussie programs (stan etc) will be replaced by there international counterparts. Netflix/Youtube and the big ones will still be available

Whirlpool thread with information and downloads here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2540051&…

BTW: after midnight it seems the price jumps back to the original, but then will be lowered again the next day. I have asked Retravision, and they have stated sale is until June 30, or while stocks last

  • Do you think HN would price match this?

    • afaik they don't sell this model anymore

Have the 55" and love it. Great tv.

    • Hows the sound? Decent speaker(s)?

      • +1

Paired mine with yas-106b yamaha = win

        • But have you been able to get the HDMI Arc going? That is use TV remote to control Yamaha speakers? I have the 58" with the Yamaha bar but can't get the ARC working.

      • +4

Eh is ok. Ended up getting some Logitech z263s. Very few TVs have decent enough speakers imo to not warrant hooking up something else.

  • Hopefully the 7000 series goes down to this price at some point and then I'll jump

note it likely won't support HDR out of the box

see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2540051 for details for how to update with UK firmware

    • -3

Correct. It doesn't support hdr hence they don't advertise it as a hdr supported model. There is some hack to get hdr working on it but no sure how effective that is. Prob better to spend $200 more and get hdr support if that's wot ur looking for

      • +3

it is not some "hack" it is purely just an update, that for whatever reason they didnt release in Aus. saying this apparently it is now also in the latest aus firnware which you can get from there support.

ours just developed a fault after 6 weeks. Taking it back tomorrow night. Note no firmware updates via the internet connection - think you have to contact Hisense for firmware updates. Wasn't impressed with that but while it was working was pretty happy with it.

    • just curious, what was the fault? and where do you have to take it for warranty?

      • taking it back to the retailer

fault was that the picture has started to jump up and down. Kinda hard to describe but on the startup logos the text splits, bit like double vision or when you've had a few. Does it when it's got a picture as well-kinda jumps up and down vertically making the picture blurry

  • "Was able to price match with appliances online"

What kind of delivery date did you get from AO? I just stuck one in a cart and checked delivery dates, and I get mid-July. Just wondering if it's just my area (also in NSW). No point in me price matching if they can't deliver it for a month!

    • Got into live chat. They estimated 1-2 weeks to QLD for my order.

    • they told me i will get it 12th of june. in eastern suburbs of sydney

      • Thanks, I contacted them and got a price match and have the same delivery date now. Thankyou for the bargain! :D

Got one from AO as well - they will delivery this Thursday!! (VIC)
    Thanks Op!

I have the 65" version and it's pretty good.

The only negatives I have noticed are:-
no channel back button on Remote.
And HDMI CEC power on doesn't sync properly with my devices. So I leave them on all the time. But they aren't power hungry anyway (mibox and yas106).

My screen got replaced by hisense due to some bad backlight bleed/flashlighting. My brother in law has the 55" model and it's really good. Better panel than mine. The smaller the better perhaps when it's comes to second tier brands.

When my screen was replaced it came with the new Hisense firmware for enhanced HDMI in the menu (HDR) g1103. It's only an 8 bit panel I think so not sure on whether it's better experience. I watched a few things and it looked better to me but I'm no pro.

If you'll go through this whirlpool thread there's a link to the Hisense AUs g1103 firmware. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2540051

  • Bummer the price is now $798 @ Retravision :(

That's only at night, it will go back during day. Not sure why

        • special promo for late night bargain hunters

      • Ohhh thanks azza9000!

  • If anyone is interested, I saw a 55" Soniq 4K TV at Harvey Norman for 599 - but no HDR I believe. Pretty happy with our Soniq TV from 4 years ago, but I guess that doesn't warrant newer models.

  • +4

This Hisense will take a massive dump on a Soniq. Definitely would go the Hisense 50" over Soniq 55" at the same price.

  • Fantastic price, thanks OP. I'm in the market for a new TV soon, hopefully there will be a similar deal on the 55" model.

I'm getting a 404 error.. I'm assuming that means it is out of stock :(

    • +2

      Its back

      • Cannot believe I missed it!

I'll be constantly refreshing the page tomorrow!

  • +2

    it is back on !!!

I just bought it for 598

  • +4

Aaaa it's gone again. I was reading it, then went back up to TVs to see if the 40" model is even cheaper, and now it's 404 again.

I think I will buy one tomorrow. I was contemplating the C7 OLED but the head says Hisense. That should be the jingle…. "When you heart says OLED, but you don't have three grand burning a hole in your pocket…. choose Hisense, da da da!"

  • Has anyone managed to grab one today?
I've been checking every hour or so and have only gotten the 404 error so far

    • No, it's quite frustrating. I tried calling Retravision but it went to voicemail.

      • That is very annoying!

        • FFS, I want my TV! I watch Ozbargain like a hawk, I don't know how I missed this when it was active.

  • I emailed them and supplied a TV at the online price picked up today. Great TV for the price!
