Got my pen from the last deal and they're really good that I couldn't resist getting another at this price, thanks Hamza.

    • Agree, good quality and very smooth writing.

Will buy again, hopefully they have blue ink as well

Just looked at the previous threads for this pen and the takeaway feeling is that the pens are not that good that they are being made out to be !
Underwhelming … wet ink which smudges….heavy pen.. << some keywords from previous deals' comments
    I'll pass this one …

There's nothing special about them. They aren't smooth. In addition to the issues you've listed, they feel like a fine point pen. There's a lot of friction or resistance when writing with it, like the pen tip is too sharp as opposed to smooth.

Seriously I like the feel of both ball point and roller ball better than Mijia.

If there was something special or unique about the ink, I'd be able to forgive its shortcomings but there seriously isn't. On glossier paper, it doesn't even come out even. It looks 'hollow' in the center of your strokes. It smudges even when it looks dry. With a roller ball, it stays wet longer but at least you can see it dry, and when it looks dry it won't smudge. This thing when it looks dry (I wait 10 secs before testing it) it still smudges.

      If you're a lefty, I wouldn't even bother.

At this price though, there's no harm in giving it a try just to see for yourself first hand what they do. It's no more expensive than a pen at a newsagent. But the Xiaomi name on it gave expectations that it doesn't meet.

    • I was probably one of those people, the write up makes it sound amazing, I were expecting something really good and while it is a good pen I wouldn't call it anywhere near amazing, but as it is only $1.70ish shipped It still good value

Order one and you have something to look forward to as you daily check your letter box and complain about slow delivery …..over the next 4-6 weeks ……. and if you cant wait that long guess there is officeworks and get a pilot G2 …. and you can take it back if its faulty.

      • +2

as you daily check your letter box and complain about slow delivery

So many times I have forgotten about cheap $1-$2 items from China and when they (always) turn up, its a surprise as if someone else ordered it for me, lol

        officeworks

Currently using the Pilot Evolt from there …..3-in-1, as I need a black, red and pencil for work

  • Best pen i've ever used, takes around 1-2 seconds for ink to dry. Only issue is how little ink it has - ran out after half a month of daily writing.

    • That's not my experience, but I'm glad you like them.

I wish the Japanese could figure out how to make blue ink.

      • Currently using the Uni Power Tank and it has a very nice blue ink.

      • The Japanese make plenty of good blue inks. If anything, it's Xiaomi's fault for not adding blue ink to their ecosystem.

        • Xiaomi doesn't make them. They outsourced the ink to Japan and the pen to Switzerland. Japan is only making black for this pen.

      • +2

Yeah writing is pretty subjective, the sharper pen tip is what I like the most about it, I prefer the control you get from the resistance.

  • Ordered last time and never arrived (same as a lot of other people.)

I bought these pens from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290716

I literally received them today (in metro Sydney), so over 4 months delivery. Pen seems to be pretty good, but far out thats a decent wait in the post

    • +12

      4 months !!! That is a record.

      • I've gotten about 6 items in the last week that I ordered 6/jan/17.

Also still haven't received my pens from the last deal.

        • In that case I may still have a chance to receive my missing power bank from banggood which they have already refund me.

BTW why you didn't ask for refund?

        • @superforever: already received refund

        • @upsidedownlemon:

          Good ….

I started to think the delivery problem was caused by auspost or border security.

The tracking number of it said arrived Sydney. I called auspost they said hold up by border security.

        • @superforever: yeah I ordered some coin cell batteries early Jan and they just arrived last week. No idea what took so long but they're still a good voltage so meh

        • @upsidedownlemon:

My tracking number no longer work now from auspost but last time I checked they said auspost received it.

      • I know…thats fast!

  • +1

    Thanks bofht one

  • Should I take a punt and order one ?

    • Won't break the bank if you do. But you might not receive it till xmas from the looks of things.

      • Should be just a few days before Xmas, so perfect for a Xmas present idea.

  • +1

Got these arrived from the last deal just yesterday. Not as smooth as I had expected. Cool Design though.
Guess I will stick to my Lamy pen for now.

  • +1

The tip is sharper than expected. The pen digs into the paper instead of gliding smoothly over it.

    • It's like a fine point pen. If you're used to medium, you won't like the feel of it.

  • +1

I paid $9 for this pen when it first came out, and It's still in the box,……..yet I'm strangely drawn to buying another,

    • +4

That should bring down the average cost for the two pens, so you don't feel bad/ripped off….

      • +1

        Good point. Done,

    • save the $9 one you haven't used yet for the "pool room" and use the $1.73 for everyday use.

  • +2

Only goes down to $2.16 for me?

    • +1

Working here, both logged in and applied code?

      Try refresh also.

      • Ok. Was on mobile so that could be it. Will try on computer tomorrow if it's still in stock.

  • Just another warning about shipping times, I ordered 4 months ago and finally received the package.

  • +3

Didn't realise these were actual pens, bought one.

    • +1

What did you think they were?

      • +2

        For a tablet.

        • +2

          Cheers mate

  • +1

    Cheers grabbed one

  • +1

took me ages to get mine as well from the last deal…
Its a pretty good pen, but a bit too thin for my liking… I go for the fatties.

  • +5

These pens are nothing to write home about.

    • Need to wait for it to arrive before you can write home about it.

  • +1

I'm getting code expired when applying the CNXMIN code for the refills

  • any Xiaomi Mi Box offer going on?

  • +1

My Xiaomi collection is getting dangerously too big. And it looks like a new version of the pen is coming out… Xiaomi 0.5mm Sign Pen.

    • Appearance looks identical. Did it get a firmware update or something?

      • B28? Besides the identical renders there is mention of cast zinc alloy.

        • what does that do for a pen?

        • @lostn: You can control it with the MiHome app now. You can be at home, and use the app to write with the pen at work. Think of the savings on your commute!

        • +2

          @AlexG:

Probably region locked though. Wont work with local paper unless you root it.

  • Now I'm getting code expired for the PenS as well. Guess I'll just wait for a deal on the new version Clear linked to.

  • yessss i FINALLY got one !! my whole life i have been trying to get a deal on one of these lil cuties but i've always been too slow ! Finally my life is complete !

    • Where you born a few months ago?

  • +1

I got the pen from the last deal. It write smoothly with nice black ink. However, I dont really like the weight of the pen. It feels "back heavy". Maybe im more of a cheap office works pen rather than a Mont Blanc kinda person.

  • Guess they need to wait for apple to design the "Ipen" so they can copy it.

  • +2

Was tempted but then realised I've never actually bought a pen so why start now.

    • Just pinch them from work.

      • Sure, some of them yeah. I like to think of it as free off site storage though.

Others are freebee promo pens etc, but a lot just turn up without any explanation. weird.

  • Received mine today from last deal . Agree that the pen is heavy to use. Looks like a cigarette . It's an ok pen but not sure why its rated so highly

    • This might be a luxury item in China as most people use the 2 cent local pens .

    • Not only the pen is to heavy, the weight is unevenly distributed which makes writing uncomfortable for long periods.

  • Xiaomi is becoming like Apple since they can even market a normal looking pen to the tech crowd…

    • +3

Well what can you say for $1.73?

If Apple sold a pen it would at least be $30 and all refills would have to be certified and delivered through the lightning port.

      • At least it would have support …you can go the genius Bar if you don't know how to use it.

        • They would tell you that you are holding it wrong!

  • mmm expired ?

  • Says code expired

  • yup ditto - expired code

  • +1

    Got mine today

  • +1

    arrived and thanks
