Sennheiser HD800 $999 & IE800 $628.95 @ Addicted to Audio

150

Just saw their sennheiser range @discount,$999 for HD800, $628.95 for IE800 are both very good prices. If you want the best sound from Sennheiser without spending thousands of dollars then a IE800 can lead you in and its sound performance is very similar to HD800, just plug it into your phones or iPods, no need of an amp.

They also have the not-high-enough range HD599, HD600,HD650,HD700 at sales prices, other than HD599($248 at the moment, $228 twice this year so far) these prices are good too.

  • Was just about to post this :P

    Some other noticeable deals:
    Audeze iSine 10 Lightning/ Standard cable : $449 (normal price $549) https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/eofy-stock-cleara…
Campfire Audio orion: $449.10 (normal price $499) https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/eofy-stock-cleara…

The iSine 10's didnt blow me away when I tried them but the internet seems to love it. Will give it a proper try when the rest of my portable stack comes. :P

    • Yes, surprising but true.

I've bought like 5 headphones from here in the past and have sat in their stores for hours trying different ones out…

If you can do pickup, you can get a better price in store by telling them to deduct the 'free shipping' etc unless they've changed, best to just call and ask what their best price is if you do a pickup.

It's a 1hr drive for me so I'm reluctant to visit often.

Sennheiser Orpheus are $55k each. But they are overears

        • I bought HD800 and IE800 in 2013, since then my money went to othe areas and I feel lucky for it.

        • @Hsinking: Are you happy with the HD800? Man, I am itching for it but waiting for you to talk me out :)

        • @Bargain Zombies:

If you have another 2k for an amp like sennheiser HDVD800 and you mainly listen to classical music then I will say pull the trigger, otherwise don't.

        • @Hsinking: tooo late, I have just paid at the shop 😂.

        • @Bargain Zombies:

Save money and wait for a deal for HDVD800 then :-)

Lowest price I know is around 1700+, you may be tempted to buy a sennheiser CHS800 balanced cable afterwards, which is about 400+, and, welcome to the HIFI world.

          Sennheiser HD800 + HDVD800 +CHS800 is a set nicknamed "suit".

BTW tax season is coming and don't forget this is a work related item.

        • @Hsinking: does the balance cable make a hugh difference? I have also compared it with the HD800s and there was only a slight different which I felt not worth the extra money.

        • @Bargain Zombies:

My very personal impression is 5%-10% improvement, no higher than 10%

        • @Hsinking: Thank you. I am playing SACD file via foobar -> Topping DSD d30 -> SPL phonitor mini -> HD800. I think this is good enough for me. I am not planning to spend big. Classical and vocal sounds amazing. The soundstage helps alot. I am actually picked up more micro details than my HE400i.

        • @Bargain Zombies:
The HD800 may be too fatiguing, get tired really easily.
Youll probably turn it louder than expected too because of the wide open soundstage, just a heads up so you don't overdo it and bust your eardrums.

If your cables ever get busted up, consider getting these instead of the stock replacement cables, you can pick 2 colors of your choice and its made by order.
