Singapore to Legoland

Can anyone provide me advice the best way to get to Legoland from Singapore. Travelling with 4 Adults and 2 Children.

  • There's a bus that leaves from the Singapore Flyer and drops you off at Legoland. I think it took about 90 mins to 2 hours, but was easy.

You could do a single day trip if you caught the first bus in and last bus out (if you only want to do Legoland and not the Water Park as well)

  • You can get a driver and minivan for about SGD150 each way. Bit more expensive than the bus but it's door to door and no headache. Also, Johor Bahru is a shit hole and not for kids.

    • What about Hello Kitty land?

      • What about it?

        • Well, at least two bits of it are for kids…

        • -1

@blaircam: The city itself is a shit hole and not for kids. Both attractions are a fair distance from the city. Take it you've been there countless times and speak from experience and not just your recently acquired google knowledge.

  • I used Superior Tours last year. Cost $SG20 or so both ways. They left from Lavendar MRT. The bus was quite comfortable too. As they aren't the 'official' one per the website, less people will use them which gives you more room on the bus. We were pretty quick through customs as well.

Alternatively, if you want to make an effort, you can take the train for $5 pp and then a couple of taxis from JB.

  • The cheapest way is on public transport, however it is always a bit longer. You can essentially get a bus which takes you all the way to JB bus terminal (you will need to get off at each checkpoint and line up again for another bus - they run continuously.) From JB bus terminal or even from the first stop at JB you can get a taxi. Make sure they run on the meter.

  • Thanks fellas. Im tossing up between bussing it or getting private transport. Its about $80SGD difference. I'm leaning towards private transport to save hassle and time.

  • I used WTS Travel, which is the bus from the Singapore Flyer that cjbowden refers to.

Ideally you want to use a bus that avoids the Woodlands checkpoint, instead using the 'second link' at Tuas (which WTS does).

Maybe I was just unlucky but the travel time was around 3 hours each way. All of the hold ups were in Singapore immigration, either long queues for outgoing processing, and long bus queues coming back. In/out processing in Malaysia was very quick in comparison.

The first in, last out bus (6PM from memory) gave me plenty of time in Legoland. I didn't do the water park.

    • It's also a timing thing. I noticed Superior Tours (which I took) left a little earlier (left at 4:30 from Legoland). It worked out 1 hour each way then. This meant we beat the queues at immigration.

The downside is there's a bit less time at Legoland.

  • Go on a weekday & not during the Malaysian school holidays. it makes a lot of difference. Ive been there 3 times over a few years. No more visits now hopefully as kids are older now.

  • I'm going on a Friday. Looks like i'm booking the private transfer having a 4 yr and 1.5 yr kids will be easier for the missus and I. Will they accept SGD or do i have to get RM the day before?

    • IIRC they accept SGD as lots of Singaporeans go to JB often.
