The popular Massdrop x Sennheiser HD6XX Headphones drop from Massdrop last year is back again.

If you know audio gear, you know the Sennheiser HD 650. The company’s flagship from 2003 to 2009, this open-back headphone has shown serious staying power. Praised for its richly detailed, effortlessly enjoyable sound, it remains one of the most talked-about products on Head-Fi today—and is still widely considered among the best headphones under $1,000. So when we teamed up with Sennheiser on its first-ever community-driven design partnership, the HD 650 was a natural place to start. A new revision of the popular all-rounder, the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX has that same great sound plus a few updates, and a price that makes it even easier to love.

Units sold domestically are expected to be delivered by December 25th, however there is no mention as yet of international timeframes (expect to be waiting awhile). They will provide clearer shipping dates when the drop goes live. International shipping (including Australia) is listed as FREE.

The drop goes live on June 26 at 6 am PT (June 26 11pm AEST) and is limited to 7,500 units. Max of 1 per customer.

All units of the HD6XX that are produced are uniquely serialized. The first 5,000 were sold in the original launch and the serialization will continue for this drop.

    I don’t see how massdrop deals are deals?
    Their wait time I always longer than an item from china, and the saving isn’t that great.
    Plus why would I want headphones that have massdrop printed on them.

    To put things in perspective, Addicted to Audio had the HD650 for $350 a couple of times.

      Currently $299 for the HD600's and $387 for the HD650's at AddictedToAudio. Would rather pay for local stock and warranty tbh.

      HD 6XX is equivalent to HD650s and not HD600 which is $387 at addicted ot audio. So it is currently the cheapest. Although like other have said you are still better off with local stock. Not worth a neg, but definitely not cheap.

      FREE .. USA domestic & International shipping (which explains why the price is higher than last time)

      i missed out on the HD6XX last time their site crashed I spent a couple of hours hoping in vain, (but I have the K7XX) as Addicted to Audio have them for $387
      an eBay special by them will match or beat Massdrop who I find very frustrating as they usually don't put the price in the email you have to Log in to see it
      and if the sale has already ended they no longer display what price it was going for !!

    Does Massdrop like, load them up into a crate and drop it from the stratosphere and if it survives the fall you get to keep them? That's the impression I've always had when I hear the name.

    All units sold are expected to be delivered domestically by December 25th.

    So, a six month wait then. For a saving of $50-odd that's not a big enough saving to wait 6 months for it.
