Stealth Guards: FREE Full Body ScreenGuard for Various Phone Models (Just Pay Shipping)

98

This deal was quite popular a while ago and its back on again. Wasn't sure if there was a way to restore the old listing, so i created a new one, but if there is a way to do it in order to avoid duplicates, then mods please delete this post (if possible that is).

Enjoy.

Mod: Removed freebie tag.

  • Be aware that the prices are in USD

    • Ah, good point, but still Stealth Guard full protection shield for just over US $2 for shipping? I don't think it gets much cheaper than that.

      • You don't get side covers with the iPhone 4- it's very deceptive of them calling it 'full' body protection

        • +2

what.. and block the antennae? lol

    • why does this have a freebie tag anyways….

      • Fixed.

Edit: Just saw your comments below, which is valid. Won't be revoking your vote.

  • how much is shipping to australia

    • It worked out to be $2.85 US to Sydney, so as i ordered an extra one for $2, all up it worked out to be $4.85.

I just got mine.. its pretty dodgy….

    • +2

same.. just got mine in mail after 1 month.. and i guess you pay for what you get.. pretty dodgy

    • You guys obviously didn't put them on correctly!
I got mine last week and if you follow their instructions on how to put them on they are great. I have no air bubbles and you wouldn't even know there is a screen protector on there.
A cheap and really good protector IMHO!!

    yep these are really bad,

they are wet application and they dont even give you the solution,

    dont buy it

    • +1

they are wet application and they dont even give you the solution,

It is called water and soap.

      Thats all zagg give you

      • Agreed. I used my LCD cleaner and the wet application works so much better than the dry.

        • They need to be put on wet.

I would not be surprised if most people complaining about them are putting them on dry.

    • I'm sure a mixture of water + a few drops of diswashing liquid isn't too hard to make? But I'd agree about not buying it, see my comment below.

      • that what I used and I must say that there were almost no bubbles after careful application. The flat surfaces application is excellent but I found it more time consuming on curved surfaces to prevent bubble and get it right.

I actually like it, I haven't tried other full body kits but they don't seem as bad to me as other are claiming them to be.

NB I sat down with a solution of dish-washing liquid and water and a hairdryer to get it done.

They had a similar deal not long ago. I've received my skins for my galaxy, and I tried to put it on yesterday only to my dismay that the skins were no cut. They had small lines on the skin but not cut all the way through. I've seen others with this problem too so it's not just me. Stay with the usual zagg and bestskinsever.

    Be warned.

received mine recently, very bad quality.. not recommended..

      iphone 4 : same..

      • +2

It might be the phone? Just sayin…

I just put mine on yesterday from the other deal, looks blurry. Definitely prefer the ones on ebay for 50c.

the back protector for the iphone has the worst cutting/layout compared to bodyguard / invinsible shield / BSE.

It doesnt fit properly and a pain trying to get it to fit without "bubble".

P/S: I've successfully applied a BSE / invinsible shield back protector with not much effort before.

  • Received mine last week, worst screen protector ever.

  • I was pretty happy with the result when I applied it to the back of my iphone 3gs. At first there were marks and blurriness visible but after a couple of days all of it disappeared and looks great.

I don't believe it is a wet application like invisible shields as I didn't use any water + soap when i applied it.

  • Mixed feelings about it on this website:

got mine the other day from the last one.

    they look really good!

    • They are the glossiest of all the skins/films I believe. Downside is they aren't oleophobic (although mine's pretty OK cos I'm no sleazeball).

And they are a bitch to put on. It will improve after 1-2 days from application.

  • I got mine and it was a good fit for the HTC Desire. I only used the back part as I hate screen covers. Just like the added texture of the back. Just spray a fine mist of water and it goes on easy.

  • i've used both invisible shield and these stealth guards, the stealth guards ones aren't cut all the way through, but what i did was apply it first and then push the borders out, its actually perfectly fine and are exactly the same as invisible shields otherwise

    • also the backing to the iphone 4 fits perfectly, not even 0.5mm incorrect fitting (centered), its an excellent fit, the screen protector i was replacing had around 1-1.5mm on one side(non centered)

      • Front for my iphone 4 is a bit off at the ear speaker (a bit of the film portrudes into the ear piece.. It's completely centred at the home button, but it has a bit of excess 'foreskin' off the edge on the top, resulting in it catching the insides of my pocket this morning and rolling back to collect lint.

That said, no other skin/film can beat this price, so admittedly, you get what you pay for.

        • could that have happened due to the bad cutting from the pieces? i made no attempt at trying to get the pieces of plastic out carefully, i just stretched it and it broke at the places where lines were cut (border pieces, and things like home button etc). if there's excess it sounds like maybe the cuts were worse on your ones. i've applied two sets now to two seperate phones and other than bubbles that will disappear over the course of the next week, everything is perfect

also you're supposed to let it dry for 24 hours, any dirt that gets under there in the first day or so will cause permanent damage and over time will colelct more and more dust causing it to peel

you can fix it by putting water on your fingers, rubbing off the dirt and then putting water underneath the sections that have peeled and pushing down

THESE ARE THE SHITTEST PROTECTORS IVE EVER SEEN. GOT MINE LAST WEEK. DO NOT BOTHER. RUBBISH

    • +6

      LOUD NOISES

    • i agree
wasn't cut properly, so when i separated it from the backing paper it stretched = useless

  • Meh I had the invisible shield on my Hero, i didnt mind that so ill give this a go. 2.85$ (or 3ish) isnt that much money anyway lol

  • +1

Be prepared to wait. The last deal took over a month to deliver.

Haven't fitted it yet, but need to follow installation instructions on their website.

    • Yup. My friend and I ordered 1 day apart, mine arrived about 10 days ago, his still hasn't.

  • -1

I agreed these are the shittest protectors ever!!! I ordered mine a month ago and only received it last week and disappointed seeing is only soft plastic with glue on it. I won't even stick it on my iphone and ended up throwing it away after waiting for one damn month for it. DON'T BOTHER WASTING $5 on it, NOT WORTH IT

  • oh god these suck, do not buy them your better off to keep your $2 and put it towards a good quality screen guard. the iphone 4 one doesn't have side protectors so its not much of a full protection. The plastic is stretch and breaks really easily.

    Avoid this crap company.!!

  • heard very bad comments of these at xda devs.
they've also been having this "free" deal for a while.
definitely not a good deal, save your money and buy something better.

  • dont bother with those. epic crap. if you slightly stretch it some how its gone. i managed to stretch it trying to peel out the badly cut sides.

    • after stretching the film returns to its normal state, that is assuming you weren't retarded and stretched it out twice its size

if it gets stretched while you are pulling it off the backing paper, you just have to apply water to the back of the protector, to your fingers, and apply as usual, when you squeegee the surface the plastic will automatically retract back to how it was

i think there are lots of negative comments about this deal because people dont know how to use these protectors. after applying 2 iphone 4 ones i'm led to believe they are pretty good quality, the only negative would be that there is no solution included, and that the cuts into the plastic dont go through 100%, both points previously mentioned.

if you are getting bubbles, microbubbles, inconsistencies or incorrectly sized ones i think it is to do with your application technique, stretching it out during application etc, you can squeegee out most of bubbles easily, and also if its stretched you can fix it with a bit of water and a squeegee to even out the surfaces

these protectors do not work very well on curved surfaces, i would suggest only purchase for flat surfaces only, ie front for phones, and only back for phones that aren't curved alot like iphone3g

  • Ordered last time, still haven't received my stuff……….
According to the comments from the mates who have got them, now I don't give it much anticipation.

I did get them when I just got home.
The package, the quality of the product sucks!!!!!
I throw them in the bin straight away.

  • POS.

    WARNING:
You get what you paid for!

  • +2

no complaints here, went on very easy and it looks good.

  • got mine last week
pulled it off 2 hours later
something just doesnt feel right about it
    bubblely and crappy
just not worth the 5 bucks

    • bubblely

You may not have put it on properly.
Small bubbles go away after a few days

  • yep…mine last time wasnt cut properly. it was a gift for my son. Now he complains all the time =-=

    • +1

thats quite problematic…you should get a new son =p

  • +1

It seems pretty clear that people who are complaining about the Stealth Guard are applying the protectors incorectly. For $5 why complain? If you take your time and follow their instructions when installing they work a treat and look and feel great. I have no issues with mine and it's the best one i have come across and I have tried several different brands. Easy to keep clean, don't attract dust or lint.

Only downside is that they take about a month to arrive.

So don't neg just because you're too incompetent to follow instructions and install correctly.

    • not neccasarily true. How it comes off the plastic, some ppl's werent cut properly. So when you peel it. it stretches. and basically when you stretch it, it useless……….

      • If it is stretched slightly then they go back to normal after a few minutes.

If it was not cut properly then you email Stealth Guards and they send you a replacement.

  • It's been a while since I received my almost free stealth guards and I gotta say, even Gladwrap does it better.
Not only was my piece (Samsung Galaxy S) not cut properly, it seems that if you dont apply it on properly or a spec drops on it and you stick it on your phone, that's it. No second chance. The reside is so sticky it leaves finger prints and it cannot be washed out. No set instructions either but luckily I didnt apply this in a dry setting.

Oh and did I mention that the holes didnt even line up properly? I had to stretch the material but the damage was done. I wont even request for a new one it's so bad.

BTW I've applied dozens of screen protectors (yes, even the ones that require soapy solution, BSE comes to mind but they're great) but never dealt with one as bad as this. Although pricey, I highly recommend Steinheil products from SGSstore.com. The Steinheil protector I temporarily replaced with this stealthguard crap came back on my phone without a hitch, no reside and easy to clean. And no need to wet before application. Plus they ship out two protectors and useful 'tool's to help make your application easier.

For future reference, I will never use stealth guards again. And by the look of these other comments here neither will they.
