Could be false economy - check the rates of prospective energy companies with a spreadsheet before deciding.

Yup, at least in QLD I've been with AGL + 10% off for something like 5 years.

Everyone claims to have a better deal but when you look at the actual figures its not.

    …and THEN can i get my 6 months free amaysim ? ;-)

    • Exactly, legitimately too ;)

  • 96.80 cents per day supply charge compared to my 78.68/c with AGL here in VIC. Huge difference.

    • @insty,

AGL doesn't provide discount on daily supply charge where as Click Energy does.
After discount, Click Energy daily supply charge is 56.1/c which is much better than AGL.

Also, compare the usage too. Click Energy is cheaper.

      • Yeah, I never thought about usage and supply being two separate things in terms of rates, and have now learnt that Click provide discounts on both.

  • …. if it was $50 each and every bill.

  • I don't see how this is a deal given that it's likely that most people will end up paying more as opposed to shopping around for the best deal.

These promotions are only there to draw in people who can't or won't look at the real cost to them of changing over.

Click energy have heaps of bad feedback especially in Whirlpool, this is one such thread about issues in dealing with them - https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2160997

  • No deal really.. They have been offering $50credit on new signups
    for ages..

  • Ya'll might want to check out Pacific Hydro…

No discount nonsense, just excellent rates.

Don't ask me why their web address is not their business name:

China owned… From their own webpage:

"Pacific Hydro is owned by the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) through State Power Investment Overseas Co., Ltd. of China (SPIC Overseas)."

    • Not in NSW

  • I'm with AGL (still on an offer I got on OzBargain) and considered moving to this mob but some of the comments on their FB page and elsewhere are quite negative. Can anyone share good experiences with this company? Price is one thing, but reliable service and support is more important to me and AGL are pretty good in that respect.

  • Monthly bills.

  • I've seen reviews on their facebook page and yeah there are some negative ones, but the majority are pretty good. From what I can see most of the energy companies have their share of negative reviews. I don't really tend to have issues with energy providers - don't really have a need to be in contact with them and so I can't comment on service really, I just pay my bill. Anyway, I've signed up to Click so I'll see how it goes!

  • Dodo Energy is still offering the best rates after pay on time discount for those on the Endeavour network, assuming Alinta Energy will also raise its rate by about 20%.

    • Additional note: those in NSW
