    Great device and great price

  • so i need a HD Antenna as well yeah?

And does this work on its own or do i need a Android TV Box? i was looking at the Nvidia Shield, and it said i can connect this as well for the Channels, but will this work on its own?

    • You need FTA coax

The homerun needs an app to access it but you can also watch via PC without app

      • FTA Coax, you mean i need a Foxtel Antenna? so really get Foxtel, let them install it, wait a month, cancel… then use their Antenna to connect to this?

        • +2

You plug it into a tv antenna to receive free to air tv stations. Then you plug it into you home LAN and it will stream tv on your local network which you can watch on various devices (phones, tablets, tv, computer) through various apps.

You can use the Live Channels app on your Shield TV to watch it.

        • No, just normal free to air

        • FTA = Free to Air, not Foxtel.

  • Awesome little device. Works well!!

Can't wait until Plex Android app enabled live tv

  • Wait, can this device act as a Plex media server?

    • Nope

  • Price is reduced as outer box has a slightly crushed corner

Are salesmen still using that old line? :-)

Still expensive compared to a $40 "kodi" box plus $19 PlayTV tuner from EB.

    The units are not preconfigured,

    UK model then?

    • +1

If your after Plex integration this is the way to go

    • UK model then?

No, I can see by my shipping details, that it has come from SARATOGA DISTRIBUTION who are one of the two official Aus distributors.

Nice, I was looking the other day and there were no good listings.

  • Does not come with remote control?

    • The 'remote control' is the app or PVR system you connect it to. On it's own it does little, but connected to the correct systems they are great.
I use a couple of the previous generation with mythtv which gives me the ability to record up to 3 streams from each of 4 different channels at once (ABC, ABC2 and ABC news can all be recorded at the same time on one tuner).

    • Does not come with remote control?

This is not that type of device. You plug an aerial in, and then an ethernet cable to put it on the network, and access FTA TV from all kinds of devices on your network.

This also works with Channels app available on Apple TV gen. 4, iPad & iPhone

  • Nice ;)

  • They don't mess around with shipping. I paid at 4pm AEST, and it was marked as sent 30mins later. Tracking info came through at 7:19 saying Startrack had it their location.

  • Does it do Australian MP4? As well as MPG2 TS? What audio codecs does it support?

    • +2

H.264 broadcasts are still encapsulated with MPEG2-TS, not MP4. The MP4 container would be useless for a stream as the metadata is at the start, not continual.

  • How many concurrent receivers does this thing have?

EDIT: O I see further down 2 tuners.
