Motorola Moto G5 Plus 32GB/4GB Grey $312.55 Delivered

Available in Grey & Gold.

$25 cheaper than the recent QD deal, however DWI/eGlobal appear to have a lesser reputation for warranty in general. If you are wanting Aus stock for the sake of the 12 month warranty then wait for a deal at Mobileciti - the best we saw was $386 in the eBay sales (currently $454 before or $431 after C5OZ code). Apart from the warranty being locally backed, it's the same phone/model.

Note that this XT1685 model is the model sold in Australia and comes with all 3G/4G bands suitable for use here.
Cellular Band (LTE): LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B19/B20/B28/B38/B40/B41

This is a Motorola, not LG. Not to be confused with LG G5.

      • +5

I'm thinking a bit of a brain fart situation took place there.

      • +2

Sorry . Yes.. My bad. I saw G5 and assumed it was LG…

    • FYI this phone should technically be called the Motorola G Plus (5th generation), but it's commonly just referred to as the G5 Plus and thus is sometimes mistaken as being related to the the LG G series

  • Would like to know people opinion between this and Xiaomi Mi5. Thanks.

    • Mi5 is flagship and G5plus is mid range

      • +1

I maxall, are you saying that you would prefer Mi5?

Mi5 wins in processor, 3GB RAM instead of 4GB RAM (unless the top of the range) and miss out the B28 which doesn't really matter to me.

Mi5 also comes with OIS … so I think Mi5 is better?

        • For same price with grey import, I would take a Mi5. If G5Plus is Aussie stock I'd take this. The Goodguys had this one at $319 last month. Grabbed one. pretty good phone

        • @coolbbb888:

I think you meant to say that from the Good Guys ( ebay store ) I last month grabbed a Moto G5 Plus 3GB/16GB local stock version on sale for $319

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/315636

          Good deal for local stock

The G4 plus is generally known to not have any particular common problems, is it the same with this model?

    • So far so good for the G5 Plus. The G4 Plus did have some micro sd slot memory issues for some ( after Android 7 update ), and overheating problems if pushed graphically too.

This chipset runs much cooler with less battery drain, and let's hope the micro sd memory issue does not happen with the G5 Plus.

i went from a HTC one M8 to a Motorola G 5 Plus. im am so happy with my upgrade i know its went from a basic higher end phone to mid range phone but ive never liked an upgrade between phones more and thats the truth

    • +2

Great feedback there! I've been thinking of getting a G5 Plus to replace an M8 so thanks! How's the cameras compare between the two?

      • +2

its better not hard really considering the two and also all points i havent found a way that this phone dosent obliterate the other

      • +2

The Moto G4 Plus and G5 Plus have really stepped up the mid range camera game. One of the best cameras out there. I think it uses the same sensor as Galaxy S7 and f/1.7 glass.

Does this have a notification led?

    • +8

Answer is the same as last week :)

      • -1

Does it have a removable battery?

        • +2

Nope, G5 Plus has 3000mAh non removable battery.

The lower spec'd Moto G5 has 2800mAh removable battery though.

    • +1

"WatchNerd" You already know the answer to this lol. You could always wear a Smartwath with Notification Led :-)

  • Spec says its 3GB/32GB. Where did you get 4GB RAM from?

    • +2

Hmm guessing it's a typo, their website correctly says 4GB RAM and eGlobal also 4GB. There is 16GB/3GB and 32GB/4GB version for XT1685 here:

      Motorola:
      Bands (by Model)
      Moto G Plus – XT1685
      Memory (RAM)
      3 GB or 4 GB
      Storage (ROM)
16 GB or 32 GB internal

      Whistleout:

The G5 Plus is available in two different configurations: a 16GB model with 3GB of RAM for $399, and a 32GB model with 4GB of RAM for $449.

    • +2

I messaged them to make sure their phone is the same as the website with 4GB of RAM to be safe, they confirmed, although no mention of fixing the listing:

      New message from: eglobalcentral-au (5,478 )
      yes, it is the same.

      thanks
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions,

Buyer beware : DWI are ultimate dodgers with warranty, contacted them about an issue with a mobile I bought from these guys, first answer took 8 days. In that email, they asked from which email address I bought the item then waiting another 10 days and counting…

      Thank you, removed expiry.

  • Anyone know if speaker is reasonable enough for music? , can't find 1 in a shop to test out

  • Purchased, received & very happy - cheers, eGlobal & OP. :D

    • +1

Hi, Could you please check for me. Did the phone they sent have NFC? Or do you have to source the same model from aus for that.

      • The one I ordered & received is the model XT1685, & does have NFC.
