  • These are WDs basically, HGST is owned by WD. Good drive, but if you wanna save even more money, the Toshiba 4TB is $189, but 64cache instead of 128.

    • Yeah you're right.

      Also so are those Toshiba P300 from Amazon too are basically WD. They have a model name HDWD110 for 1TB, HDWD120 for 2TB, HDWD130 for 3TB and HDWD140 for 4TB. I believe HD stands for Hard Drive and WD stands for Western Digital. Basically made in Western Digital factory in China and branded Toshiba. Re-branded WD hard drives.

      This drive is $6 cheaper and as you stated, has double the cache. How is the Toshiba a better choice exactly?

      Also, HGSTs are known for a generally lower failure rate among all the major manufacturers. They may be owned by WD but they're not the same.
