          @gearbest: That isn't what I was told today when I did an online chat. I was told there was still another 1-3 days until it is in stock, and the AU plug won't be in stock until the 28th

        I've been waiting too and yet to have item shipped. Looking to cancel now since Banggood seems the better option. Not happy and it's cheaper what what I originally paid for it and still processing

      Sure does - it runs Android TV and you can install Kodi from the play store.

      Generally, I'm pretty happy with Android TV - the only thing that can be a bit dicey is local catchup TV. This is mostly sorted by using Kodi plugins and/or Chromecasting to it instead.

    Bought mine on the 11/7, still says processing. Did online chat, the person said they were waiting on AU plug, I told them to just ship without it and they said it would still take another 3 days to ship without it, and the AU plug wouldn't be in stock until the 28th. I suspect this isn't in stock.

        Can you apply code to US power pack not just EU …..I can bend pins on US power pack to fit AU power point so don't need adapter….code only works for EU ….

          Stupid idea… Just buy a Australian 3x1.5mm dc adapter for $5 or a USB to 3x1.5mm and either use a usb port on the TV or a old charger don't bend pins causing damage you can't see

          not sure if TV usb port delivers 2.1 amps,

          most tv boxes work with a 5 v usb charger or power supply …… for some dumb reason Xiaomi make theirs 5.2v ….. not sure why, would have been easier to make it 5v ….. might be that if you load up the usb ports on the tv box with add on such as large 3 1/3" drives with movies the voltage drops ….. so I guess it's possibly done so that you can plug in things within the USB spec and the tv box doesn't drop below a certain voltage.

          eBay seems to have 5v 2 amp au power packs for $3.65 i will get one of those but plug is 5V 2A DC 3.5mm*1.35mm

        Exactly same as you, I pm'd the rep 2 times already to send without the adapter and also their ticketing and all they say we have flagged you first priority and will advice when shipped. Seriously, advertising when on back order.
        Day number 13 on backorder still. I was offered store credit, I said no. If I see another offer for same price I will request Paypal refund.

      the issue with travel adapter is they if you plug it into the wall, the travel adapters tend to become loose / fallout….. due to weight and leverage, same thing when used on power board falls over ……. hence but another power pack from 3rd party …… you can sell the one the unit comes with on ebay to overseas users because xiaomi doesn't sell them as parts so people have to buy refurb or 3rd party.

    one of my Mi boxes arrived today and I can say I'm less than impressed compared to my cheaper TV boxes, like A95X.
    Although the Xiaomi has a novel voice control …………….
    It DOESNT allow from the playstore installing ABC Iview, Free TV, SBS on Demand, 9Now, or any of the other popular Android apps for Australian content.

    For Australians it's bit limited unless all you want is Netflix and Kodi, which all players seems to support anyway.

    What a let down after waiting for 5 weeks ……………

    Geekbuying have many cheaper like Bee, Nexbox, Mecool, etc units that allow the loading of Australian relevant apps from the playstore.

      Well there is a reason it's not sold to the Australian market and remember its not the android playstore is the android tv store there's a difference but in saying so you can still install any Android app by side loading the apk or installing Aptoide apk which is another playstore for other apps not available in the native one. Used so many android boxes over the years while still having a house filled with new Samsung and LG smart tvs nothing comes close to the mibox expect maybe a shield

      Don't use ES Explorer use X-plore instead

      With foxtel set to release the TV Puck soon which is based on Android tv, expect to see official android tv apps in the near future
