Osprey Meridian 60L Wheeled Travel Backpack and Attachable Daypack, Metal Grey, $259.94 Including Delivery @ Wild Earth

60

Good price on a rugged, good quality wheeled back pack and day pack combo. Main pack 44 litres, day pack 16 litres as confirmed with Osprey.

I just received this back pack myself and the day pack attaches with buckles rather than zip, to main pack as stated on page.

I used this for a 3 month RTW trip 10 years ago. While it is a great bag if you need both a backpack and a wheeled bag, I would consider strongly if you really do need both.

My trip was mainly flying/staying in hotels, plus a (hotel) contiki tour and Oktoberfest, and used it as a backpack twice at the most.

IMO get a backpack if you really need it, or get a wheeled suitcase if you don't.

But a great price for the bag if you do need it.

    • 100% agree with the above.

I've got a similar version of this bag (Osprey Sojourn) been using it for years, although I rarely used the backpack component, because wheels and frame of these bags are so strong you can literally drag them over anything.

And that brings me to the first advantage of these bags. They are far stronger than any wheeled suitcase.

Secondly, the ability to compress the bag allows it to fit into spaces suitcases can't fit.

Of Course it all depends what sort of travelling you are doing.

One of the main reasons I only buy Osprey is there warranty. Their bags have a "lifetime" repair warranty so if something breaks, gets torn they will repair it regardless of fault.

Probably cheaper buying from their ebay page (use C5OZ code for 5% off) or one of the $20 coupon codes if our eligible.

  • My partner has a bigger size and loves it.

Uses the daypack and leaves the rest at the (hostel) accommodation.
