Extending International Layover Time

Hi guys,

Is anyone know how to extends layover time when bought ticket from iwantthatflight?

  • There an 'add layover' checkbox on the main page?

The price will probably be different, because some fares allow a free layover, others need you to take the next flight.

    • I mean like extend layover hours, the add layover option is like choose each leg of the journey which cost more.

Not always - It just depends on the fare rules. Some of the fare rules have a fixed charge for an extended lay over, other times it's free, other times it's not allowed at all.

Most flight search engines (not sure about IWTF specifically, but I'm guessing they use someone else's search engine anyway) are clever enough to take into account the fare rules when pricing up a multi leg itinerary. I did a quick search and IWTF's multi-leg seems to be working as I would expect.

If the search engine can't find a fare to fit your itinerary, it will price it as individual legs. It's best to compare the prices from a few sites to make sure your getting the best fare. Multi-leg fares are one area where you'll see big differences between travel agents/websites.

        • Yeah, seems to be correct to me. If you search on routes where airlines allow free stopovers(eg. Cathay in Hong Kong) IWTF will show the same price as without the layover. Of course, the flight after the stopover must be the same price as as the starting date.
