  • yeh the delivery almost kills this deal, these guys always have crazy delivery to keep themselves top of google searches price

this is still significantly cheaper than Gearbest though, who's quoting $195 USD ($250 AUD).

The 3x zoom is nice though I'm not sure the camera bump would go down well with people's (jeans pockets). The newly released Xiaomi 5x has dual cameras with 2x optical telephoto lens which seems to be pretty good.

      • Would the extra $100 for a moto g5 plus be well worth it in your mind?

Does the more than 50% increase in cost transform into performance?

This seems to have everything but the outdated OS.

Won't be really using the NFC, cameras or other features besides raw performance and maybe a tiny micro sd card.

$25 for 3-4 days delivery from Hong Kong is not expensive, only someone who has never posted anything via Australia Post would say something so absurd. For a 3kg satchel from Australia Post with over a weeks delivery via road is over $13.

  • bought few things from eglobal they are fairly quick (3-5 days) to deliver from HK to sydney

  • Android 5 lets this down

  • How does this compare to a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X

    • Battery sucks compared to xiaomi but otherwise good

  • Looks good

  • Would this be an upgrade compared to my note 4? I am reluctant to change phones, I have really grown attached to my note 4. I even sold an S7 as I preferred the note 4 over that.

    • What do you find great about the note 4? I'm currently using one whilst my Redmi note 3 is being fixed and it's so slow!

    • Nope, this phone is a bit slower than the note 4, and the camera is not necessarily better. The note 4 also has a better screen. If you sold your S7 to keep the note 4, youre probs gonna wait a long time for a phone to be special enough for you to want one.

      • You believe this phone doesnt have a better camera than the note 4?

        • +1

Yep, unless you're going to make full use of the optical zoom. Even then, the optical zoom is only worth using in bright daylight since the aperture is ridiculously small for a phone. The note 4's camera is slightly better in daylight and much better in low light.

Edit: I looked at your other comments and realised that you might've been talking about the xiaomi note 4 instead of the samsung. Even then the xiaomi camera is on par if not better than the Samsung one, so the above still applies.

  • Does this support Camera2 API for RAW photo output?

  • b28?

Damn it OzBargain! I told you already, I'm God damn happy with my God damn phone and don't need a new one!

  • Besides from the Ugly as (profanity) Lens and OS does this phone have any downsides compared to the note 4x?

    • +1

one advantage it has over the note 4x is that the display glass is gorilla 4 and not fragile as (profanity).

      • Yea i saw that from your link. i hate putting on Temp glass or other stuff like that. Always get bubbles.

My s7 doesn't have a single scratch on it over 1 year strong.

I read on bazzas post someone has had camera problems after upgrading to Marshmellow that will suck alot if that's the case.

  • Apparently some Problems with the Zenfone after updating to marshmallow

    https://www.asus.com/zentalk/ph/thread-152064-1-1.html

    • Battery has never been the greatest on zenfone 2 with the intel processors (i have one). That being said most of it pans out and is fine if you wipe system cache after updating (if so required )

  • The biggest problem with it is x86/Intel architecture (rather than lot more common ARM) which means that quite often apps won't install (but they would if sideloaded) or won't work (simply crash) and this will be happening more often than one would expect.

Use code WELCOME to get $8 off

    ends up $176 delivered

  • Is the price in au?

    • From the FAQ section on their website -

Q: What currency is the display price?
A: All pricing on the websites are in Australian dollars.

      Cheers !

  • I got ZenFone 3 ZE520KL back in April for close to $300. I ahve been hapy with it, but interested in this as it has NFC.
What aspects of this phone will be a downgrade? Processing Speed? Camera? Anything else? Why so much cheaper?

    • +1

shoot first, ask questions later. Have purchased so let's see how it goes

  • Wow good price without delivery surcharge

  • I owned a Zenfone 2 and it made me want to never touch another ASUS phone ever.

Poor build quality and it was a "flagship" phone they never updated.

  • Out of curiosity anyone know where I can get and armour case or the kind with the stand for this phone?
