    No deal.

    $200 (usd) on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSZSL4I
    $228 on wireless 1 https://www.wireless1.com.au/sennheiser-hd-4-50-wireless-blu…

    Probably other places as well

    • ?? You get a 12 month subscription and get a free headphones worth ~$271 AUD shipping from amazon.

      • +6

It would be an even better deal to get just the headphones and no Herald Sun.

        • +3

I think I'd pay more for that Orpheus.

    • -1

Well, for those who wants to subscribe in the first place now get to have a free headphone too! why not ;)

      • +2

        Digital Access = $260 for a 12 month plan
        Digital Access + Sennheiser headphones = $364 for a 12 month plan

Am I missing something? You pay something for it. Nothing is 'free'.

        • +3

The 260 12 month plan includes weekend papers. So the direct compare is 413.
So to get the same paper deal, it is 156 more. You can buy the headphones for 188 online. And you don't have to get Murdoch trash delivered to your house every weekend

        • +3

Still a deal but its definitely not free. Guess the question to ask is whether a herald sun subscription is worth the extra $$ which to me is a definite no

        • @GossipGoat: Agreed. Depends how much you value the newspaper subscription. Each to their own. You definitely wouldn't/shouldn't be purchasing this just for the headphones.

        • @Flyingmoo: Just for clarification sake…it is $260 for digital access and $260 for digital access + weekend paper delivery. They're both $260.

        • @czd:
Ah right. The 364 deal with headphones doesn't include weekend paper delivery though.

        • never mind, didn't see the yearly plans

  • +16

Don't give Murdoch any of you money imo

  • +1

Good deal, though would rather spend the extra $49 for the paper package.

  • +3

I might be tempted if it was The Age.

  • +1

Digital newspapers… I have enough doom and gloom on my news feed and Windows 10 Edge screens..
Plus paper newspapers are so much better!!

  • 12 months of rubbish journalism. No thanks

  • +6

Does the noise-cancelling headphones work on their columnists ?

  • +2

Lol….I'd pay extra not to have to put up with the Herald Scum….

I don't need to read any more of Andrew Bolt's rubbish….

    • Bolt's articles are a great read. Was always looking forward to his next reference of "pagans" back in the days.

  • Merged from Free Sennheiser HD 4.50 headphones with a annual Digital Courier-Mail subscription - $7 per week

Sign up for digital access to the Courier Mail at $7 per week and get a free set of Sennheiser Headphones

You will be billed $28 every four weeks. That is $364 pa. The headphones are worth approx. $329.

I think the headphones you get are the same as in the below link

Anyone else remember how ozbargain swarmed that daily telegraph sub for rebel gift cards deal way back?

      • Anyone else remember how ozbargain swarmed that daily telegraph sub for rebel gift cards deal way back?

Yep yep. The West Australia also did a sub offer, 3 months and got a double pass to Wicked, which was worth way more than the 3 months sub. Unfortunately an offer never to be seen again!

    • "No cancellations during the first 12 months."
So we need to spend the full $364 to get these? Can a company even stipulate that you can't cancel a subscription?

      • Isn't this essentially what a contract is?
Except then there is no cancellations for 24 months.

  • Just saw this

Not available to any person who has previously breached any of our subscription terms and conditions

Well, that rules out half of OzBargain!! Lol if sanitarium did this with their next up and go promo..

    • Meaning those who didn't fulfil their previous subscription contract (probably by cancelling their credit card or putting a payment block on) and not paying out the rest of the term.

      • Lol I know, just some light banter because I know fellow ozbargainers likes to be creative in maximising their savings :)

        • Well too bad. They miss out on a pair of $329 Bluetooth NC headphones. Well according to what JB wants for the Sennheiser HD 4.50.

          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/headphones-dj/headphones/sennheise…

        • @hollykryten: But who wants the paper anyway?? I'd rather pay $35 less and be done with all that tabloid nonsense :D
And there will be cheaper prices than JB

        • @pennypincher98:

Those who actually read the paper (well the digital version of the paper) and the online content.

Also this subscription is valid for all the News Corp newspapers, immediate digital access to 10 newspapers for the $364. Oh and also access to FOX Sports Digital. It's a news+ subscription. So you peoples thinking that this is a Herald Sun only subscription, think again. It's a subscription with access to multiple newspapers + Sennheiser HD 4.50 headphone. It's all $28 per 4 weeks.

For example. Here's the link for the Sennhisher headphone giveaway deal through Courier Mail.

          https://myaccount.news.com.au/couriermail/subscribe?pkgDef=C…

And down the bottom it says this:

"*Our news+ network is made up of our most popular news sites, like dailytelegraph.com.au, heraldsun.com.au, couriermail.com.au and advertiser.com.au. As a Digital Member, you get access to them all PLUS townsvillebulletin.com.au, cairnspost.com.au, goldcoastbulletin.com.au, geelongadvertiser.com.au, ntnews.com.au, themercury.com.au, and access to a FOX SPORTS Digital subscription. Simply use your subscription account to log in."

        • @hollykryten: Ok it's a good deal for those who want to either a) read that rubbish and want to read it digitally. or b) those desperate for a FOX sports digital subscription and want free headphones

Definitely not really a deal for me, but I appreciate that others might enjoy this.

  • Also i found out. The subscription deal is not only for Herald Sun. It's also for Courier Mail, Daily Telegraph, Advertiser, Townsville Bulletin, Cairns Post, Gold Coast Bulletin, Geelong Advertiser, NT News and The Mercury. The headphones are all being given away through a subscription to any of those papers. And if you subscribe to any one of them, you then have immediate digital subscription access to all of them. Multiple newspapers. So don't think you get access to just the Herald Sun only or just one newspaper, it's access to 10 newspapers. It would be like going to the newsagency and buying 10 newspapers every day.

I subscribed through Courier Mail online with the free Sennheiser headphone deal on it too.
