3 Piece Corner Lounge Settings $329 @ Bunnings

430

Don't have to line up early morning and don't have to get frustrated because there were 3 of these in store and 50 people lining up to get them and you missed it because you were the 49th one.

On top of that you save $20. How good is that ?

Looks like they brought this out right in time to beat Aldi's seasonal deal. And $20 cheaper.

  • Is it any good? $20 is meaningless if the quality is inferior vis-à-vis the Aldi version.

Looks like similar material, but Bunnings return policy is as good as ALDI imo if anything's wrong. I'm still hitting my head on the wall because I bought these from seagals furniture and just before Aldi and Bunnings brings this for a great price. Mine one is similar to Bunnings. I think they all come from the same factory in China except Aldi has chucked another set of cushion covers as insentive for people waiting in line for an hour hoping they'll get one.

There are a lot of factories in China! I'm sure they don't all come from the same one.

    • Lol, you still think Aldi sells quality!? mustn't have bought enough of their special buys to experience as many breakages / failures as me (generally speaking, not sure about this item).
Latest was one last week was one of their medion SD cards - lost some pretty sentimental photos too.
It all comes out of similar factories anyway, (so I still buy from them!)

The last special buy I tried to get, sent family members to two other stores, I went to one, none of us even got close to getting one!
The thing could be reinforced with 2 inch thick tensile steel, never going to break in 100 years, doesn't matter one bit if you can't get one.

they are all cheap plastic crap that falls apart after a few years.

Says "steel frame with resin wicker woven base"?

      • +7

        Resin = plastic

What material do you expect for outdoor furniture? Wool? 😏

The plastic referred to is the cosmetic base rather than the frame or sitting material. Plastic can be engineered to be as long lasting (plastic piping vs pegs) as needed depending on application but this "bargain" furniture won't be.
The real problem is not the material or cost of manufacture but the the cost of disposal - after a couple or a few more years, when the polymer chains had broken down and became brittle and cracked, you'll pay close to nothing to dispose of it. However, if you had to pay the real cost on present and future environmental impact of landfill, say $150, then you'd feel differently about this "bargain".

          @AlexF:

Great post. You should post more often here. Lots of purchases on OzB are just because something is cheap.

I'm sorry sir, with comments like that you will need to hand back your OzB card…

Erm, no. It's possible to be a bargain hunter and not destroy the environment.

I'm getting his name tattooed on my neck.

        • @Scab:

          Username checks out.

        • @tightwad: timber would be nice!

        • @tightwad: Yeah, I wonder how many eneloops are going to end up in landfill in a few years as a result of OzB!?

        • @MrFrugalSmith:

Eneloops are far better then normal, 'disposable' batteries. We can never have enough batteries in our house and if you really do have too many you can always give them away. Absolutely no need to chuck them unless they've been used too many times and can't hold their charge anymore.

        • @tightwad:

Seriously, there are far too few comments like this. I'm sure there are lots of reasonable people on here that just need to be reminded about important issues like the environment before they make make purchasing decisions.

Before you ask, looks like the normal price is $389

I have the set from the previous time Aldi had it for sale, it's decent quality but the resin wicker didn't look like it would stand up to my weight for long so we grabbed some wood and put it underneath the cushions and it's lasted a year so far without issue. not absolutely sure if this one is the same brand but I rate the one i have, with some wood panelling as support at least. FYI I grabbed some Marine ply and cut it using the cushions as a guide.

Lining up is for losers. Where I live, it is full housos mode.

    • that's what i meant LOL

    erm .. wat

three sold, and OP was the second last person waiting for one of three available.

      • +3

        Three sold to 48 people?

        • 3 sold to the first person who brodened it. OP was the second person and missed out?

    • To be fair the 4th person missed out too, but I get what OP is saying, if you've ever tried to get one of the more sought after Aldi special buys, you'd understand…!

  • Ah, I just purchased IKEA Friheten for $800 :|

Mate, this post is for outdoor furniture. Yours is an indoor sofa bed.

  • Does anyone own one of these for a decent amount of time and care to comment on quality?

    • bought a kmart set that looks pretty similar and its stood the test of time - about 2 years old. Obviously gets left outside. Have washed the covers once (unzip from foam)

Amateurs!! They could have slept in, saved $20 and a lot of stress if they checked ozb.

      • Obviously not OzBargainers

      • If they were real Ozbargainers they would have called in bikies.

  • Anyone who has the Bunnings Marquee lounge, can it be set up as two lounges, with the chaise separate to the lounge? None of Bunnings near me have on display and staff wasnt sure. Thanks

    • If you separate them to use at two lounge you won't have armrest on one side for both pieces.
