Best Iphone 4 deal out there now

I know this has been done to death a bit but I cant find any up to date discussion on the issue and I'm about to sign up for a deal.
I am willing to sign up for 24/24 (would prefer 12 but phone starts to get pricey)
I usually spend between 29-49 / month (am currently on a vodafone prepaid) - about 300 bucks of calls and 500mb-1gig of data would be about right.
My wife is also out of contract so she can move carriers as well.

Are the any good deals out there (besides the basic deals the carriers are offering) - eg free months / extra data or texts etc?

Am pretty keen on an iphone but i guess if someone really wanted to convince me otherwise, I am willing to listen

cheers guys.

  • Samsung Galaxys S, and HTC Desire are imo better than the iphone 4. You can get $100 gift card at Jb hi fi, if you are new to Telstra and go on the $49 cap. The desire HD is being released with 3 and vodafone very soon if you can wait.

  • I was convinced by a sales person to buy a Samsung Omnia a couple of years ago because "it is better than the iphone". Boy was I conned! Buy an iphone, it is great, I love it. I am on the Vodafone $79 unlimited, but I got first 3 months free, $50 credit and 10% off for life of contract on a NRMA deal. I am very happy with the phone, but not so much with Vodafone as when I purchased the phone I was answered in Hobart but now when I ring customer service I am answered overseas. http://www.more4members.com.au/offer/Vodafone.html

    • agree…omnia sucks…

But i also know that the galaxy s doesnt. nor does the HTC desire suck.

Just bcos omnia doesnt run Android, you shouldnt generalise it across their whole range of products.

    • Because the Omnia sucks, get an iphone? lol

Read the reviews on htc desire http://www.cnet.com.au/htc-desire-339301153.htm

The review written was before the froyo update, which makes the phone alot better(increase cpu speed up to 5x, adobe flash etc).

    • would they match the deal for RACV members or are they pretty tight with their offers?

      • When I ordered mine they asked for the nrma/racv number, but other ozbargain members commented that they were not asked. So you could give it a try.
