    But, why?

    • +2

      Because it has why-fi.

  • +2

Cashrewards only 2.4 percent for new customers, existing customers only get 0.8 percent.

Also this price is pretty ordinary, you could get US$97.99 using code that Gearbest rep provided.

This is not the pressure IHP model but the lower end IH (induction heating only) model. The pressure model goes for about $250-300 delivered. You probably should remove 'pressure' from your title.

  • +3

This is the low-end model, not the Pressure one. I would happily pay AU$200 for the IPH model

I bought my IHP model for $260 delivered earlier in the year from Fasttech: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10033402/7319900-authent…

They frequently have 10-15% off sitewide coupons (https://www.fasttech.com/forums/promotions) and with a stronger Aussie dollar you might be able to get it for even cheaper.

      • Replying to my own comment: it's currently $237.71 delivered using the 'HARDWORK' coupon for 10% off. But you might want to pay more for a quicker delivery method.

IMHO, $90 more for the IHP model is better 'value' than this IH model, considering that in China the IHP version is nearly three times the price (¥999 vs ¥399).

        • Hi mate cant seem to apply code HARDWORK is it working for anyone else?

        • +1

@cm712: That coupon expired on 04/09/2017 I think. They seem to post 10-15% off coupons regularly here, though: https://www.fasttech.com/forums/promotions

@Zoetrope: Thanks mate, found their forums later didn't want to wait for another promotion i just purchased it with standard shipping.

    • Is it really worth getting the Pressurised one if you just want to cook rice?

      • I'm not quite sure. Many of my friends are using the Japanese ones (which are damn more expensive), and they all said that the pressure versions make the difference). There's not much difference between a IH cooker (non pressure) with a traditional cooker.

My current cooker is having some problem with its inner pot. I could not find a replacement for that pot on the market, so now need to find a new cooker

    Does it have band 28?

    • That's also my concern.☺

  • Does it work without an app?

    • It does, but you need to put a sticker to replace the labels if you dont understand Chinese.

Sorry it says "smart" not "Smarter" value in the product title.

      • Sorry I wasn't quoting (hence the lack of quotation marks).

        • +1

my point was your comment was subjective and your opinion, the product itself doesnt claim to be smart(er) just smart.

        • @ninetyNineCents: It was subjective. It was my opinion. I did not say the product itself claimed to be smarter.

The Fasttech link I posted earlier is much cheaper than Zapals for the IHP (induction + pressure) model: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10033402/7319900-authent…

      Fasttech: US$130.45 (using 'HARDWORK' coupon for 10% off) + $59.01 shipping = AU$237.71 delivered.
      Zapals: US$172.99 + $59.55 shipping = AU$291.76 delivered.

Is it annoying to use if you don't speak/read chinese?

        • +1

It is annoying to setup as you need to figure out your elevation and map it somewhere in China with the same elevation. But once setup, it's all good to go. You need to change the button caption to English if you want to use it without the app.

I bought a rice cooker Xiaomi from Zapals…. Hopefuly they arrive soon.

      Good luck with that.

  • Just bought one from China, it is actually quite good, providing you can read Chinese.

    • +1

National language of Australia, why won't people be able to read it?

      • Failing Australian education system.

  • Just need a Xiaomi robot now to cook and bring me the rice and I'm set for LIFE

  • Can I set this up in the Mi App to switch on if my figure looks malnourished on my XiaoFang camera?
