It's clever marketing. By offering a gift card for their own store, it means you are forced to make another booking with them in the future to redeem that value. Therefore the cost of the gift card to HWT is virtually spread over two bookings.
Too bad they've wasted their time putting this marketing gimmic on here, completely wrong audience.
