    • +3

haha, i have the same struggle in my mind. Really dont have room for it.

    • +12

Don't even mention space, i need an extra bedroom for the unnecessary stuff i buy

    • +3

      Yes, yes, and yes.

Stiil holding back on pulling the trigger, I can just hear the CEO now, "really you bought more stuff!". Me - "think of the children!".

      • +9

        I'm in the same boat

        I texted

Me: Cheap waffle makes <JB hifi link>, should we get another one
CEO: No I like the one we have. We don't have space for this one.
        Me: ok

        2 minutes later ….

Me: jumps on computer and orders one

        πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • HAHAHA, that so sounds like me!

        • I'll take your old one for $5

        • @Jackson:

          It's a Kogan one

Probably not worth anything second hand πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        • +3

@easternculture: i will take it free then if you insist :)

    • +1

Just like the 2 hours steamer from HN for $8. This probably will be sitting pretty in my pantry for display purposes lol

    • Waffle bowl + free ship = yes please cheers

    • Do I need it … no
Do I have space for it … no
Do I want it … yes

Mate can you stop waffling on and just buy it already?

      • +1

That was quite a bowled pun I have to admit.

    • The CEO was fine with it, and the kids loved the YouTube videos of it in action. Paid for with promo gift cards, winning!

      Thanks OP, + from me.

  • +1

Let me save you all some money - don't buy it:)

    (You'll probably use it once….)

    • +4

I already have a waffle maker and use it a few times weekly

    • It's a waffly good price though..

    • +1

After numerous waffle makers I'd no longer buy any where you can't remove the plates and wash them separately like in a dishwasher.

  • +9

Thanks, bought two, cheaper than bringing the family to Max Brenner or some other evil chocolate dealer.

PS: These are good for chicken nuggets too. Put nuggets in the waffle bowl, or eggs or bacon or roast chicken/beef. Pick it up, hold it like a sandwich and enjoy.

    • I was on the fence about this until you mentioned putting savouries in there… so bad, but so good

    • Toasted chicken nugget mash. That is an interesting culinary journey through the impoverished communities of the western world.

I want to get one but don`t have my up and go giftcards with me :(

  • +1

Thanks OP, saw pictures of waffle bowls with ice cream and couldnt resist.

    • They sure know how to advertise

    • +2

Same here, until i saw the icecream in the bowls it all was good. Then i got weak

  • +3

    Cheaper than a LEGO deathstar!

  • How crunchy is the waffle and is it non-stick?

    • -6

If you read description you mind find out

    • +1

Not super crunch but crunchy enough for me. Different batters will make crunchier waffles. Yes definitely non-stick.

    • I made some last night. Batter wasn't as crunchy as I hoped but will experiment with a different recipe. It was non-stick and I didn't even degrease.

  • +8

I bought this for around the same price a year or so ago. It's awesome! Once you get the hang of how much to put in without it overflowing (tip - just under the max line is good) you can get consistent waffle bowls every time. Another tip, different batters will expand differently so don't overfill on first attempt. Enjoy!

  • I own one and it's great :)

  • -1

what do you put in the bowl? My kids are gluten free so I cannot use normal stuff, but happy to make up my own mix if that is doable.

    • Gluten free pancake/waffle mix?

    • +6

      Your children are gluten free?

      • +3

Yeah. They're about 62% water, and the rest are proteins, fats and minerals.

  • +6

    Bought.
Justification: About the cost of one dessert at Max Brenner :P

  • +1

interested to purchase this. does anyone know if this cones with instruction on how to make the batter? i am totally not good in cooking, but would love to try it, coz i like waffle

  • Got one.. never had a waffle before hope their tasty.

    • +1

If you're in Melbourne, BlackBall in Chinatown does the best crispy ones.

  • +1

Bought one. This is why i LOVE OzB!

  • I don't need this. Novelty appliances are for losers. Nekminit, I bought one.

  • Goddamnit OzB. It's bought.

  • bought one thanks OP! :)

  • Bought LOL.

  • +2

Goddamnit why did I buy this lol

  • Like everyone else, not sure if I will use this, but I bought it anyway. Bloody OzB effect! :D

  • Bought. What are some of your waffle batter recipes?

  • This is like something I'd get for secret santa.

  • Trigger pulled. Cheers OP!

  • +1

Thanks OP, my 3 daughters will love making and eating waffle bowls

    • "Love making and eating waffle bowls" HA! (sorry)

  • Thanks OP, bought one

  • +1

I'm going to make a chocolate coated Death Star

  • +3

In my experience, Russell Hobbs products are of poor quality, never again no matter how cheap.

    • +1

Not in mine. Great blender. Great kettle.

    • +1

      Gotta agree with you there.

  • +3

Don't need it. But bought one. Don't wanna be left out.

  • +3

    What's cleanup like?

  • Should I scale the heights of culinary delight with this??

Or stick to home made gourmet fish and chips with genuine English mushy peas?

    No contest really!

This must be one of the few things are worse than the the FCMP's in the healthy eating stakes.

    I almost bought one though!

  • -1

Bought one. Will leave it till my children want to use it themselves I guess. (Sigh… OzBargain. You do it again)

  • Now I feel like eating a waffle bowl.. or 5

  • +1

There's a saying, if it has the word 'maker' in it, you don't need it!

    • I have also heard this….but then how do you make a waffle bowl without a waffle bowl maker? :)

      • So the question is, do you need a waffle bowl and if so, how often would you need one - in your lifetime?

        • Seeing as I have a 3 and 5 year old who have just discovered waffles, I'd say quite bit from now on!

  • +1

Once upon a time JB was a little store on Church St Parramatta selling obscure music.

    Now it’s selling waffle makers.

    Times have changed.

  • Litterally just bought a waffle machine yesterday off ebay :

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Round-Waffle-Maker-Stainless-Non-…

yesterday if anyone is interested, otherwise id pull the trigger.

    • Well, I think this (yours) will be infinitely better then this bowl maker. A central tenant of waffle making is that the plates must rotate, otherwise it's just a moulded pancake. I've make this error before.

  • Is this like you can have your bowl and eat it too?

  • Not sure why I purchased this.
Any recommendation on the premade mix?

    • Pay 500%+ for a pre-made batter mix!?

That's not the Ozbargain way, easy as to make from scratch. Impress friends and family with your homemade waffles, for only $19 delivered!

The guy's and gal's at JB would be loving this post. Lol

    • Put rice in it and you'll have a rice bowl!
save time cleaning an extra piece

      :D

  • Was going to get one, but can't be stuffed creating yet another useless account which I'll forget the password in 2 min… Give me a PayPal option JB!

    • They do have PayPal

      • Not without making a stupid account. Should be able select it before having to make account. PayPal has all the delivery details etc..

  • +7

I got given one of these for secret santa last year. Totally shit. Was never hot enough to make any part of your waffles crispy. And it means you don't have good ratio of toppings to waffle per forkful. Also the batter would sink down to the bottom whilst cooking so the bottom was always really doughy. 2/10 would not recommend. 2 points because it made waffles, which is better than no waffles.

    • +2

Did ya let it heat up first? Plenty of positive reviews for this one on the net. GG/HN/Big W/Appliances Online all selling this for around $40 on clearance.

  • Got one!!! Cheers!

  • Sweet! Thanks OP.

  • +1

Bought just so I could have a story at work tomorrow.
Will probably end up giving it away to an op-shop.

  • It's gone. Noooooo!

  • got mine :) Love it, wanted to grab one for my nephews for Christmas and now the offer is gone :(

  • What recipes did you guys use? I followed the one in the booklet supplied but I'd like the waffles to be more crispy.

  • I think the way this is made makes it hard to make crispy waffles. Once you put the lid on, it essentially seals itself in and steams. For $19 it does the job though.

  • For anyone who's here for the review, i tried mine this morning and it made great crispy waffle bowls!
