AusBBS Price Fighter Deal NBN 100/40 unlimited @ $85 pm

81

Hi,
If you have suffered BuzzTelco outage & their handling of the same then this deal may be for you.
This is 3rd cheapest after MyRepublic & BuzzTelco that I found.

100/40 @ 85 pm For, 24 month free setup
100/40 @ 85 pm For, 12 month $35 setup
100/40 @ 85 pm For, month2month $55 setup

I prefer month 2 month as it gives freedom to test the company & their support. In my case BuzzTelco failed on informing customers of the outage & their handling of the issue. This outage has been the longest ever I have ever come across.

Happy deal hunting.

  • This outage has been the longest ever I have ever come across

You obviously have never used Telstra

    • the outage started yesterday around 2:30pm & still it is ongoing with new modem settings.

      • I'd say Telstra Cable is fairly reliable, but there have been more than one outages of several days in the past two years. One outage was more than a week but they did give me 20GB of 4G data to tide me over.

Telstra didn't have any bush fire as an excuse.

26 day outage just recently on Internode ADSL and repeated stuff ups by tech support.
I work from home so went through a tonne of 4GX data, was a nice speed increase, but it cost me.

        really?
I had a 2 day one recently with Internode ADSL

Was annoying, but not really 'carrier jumping' material

      • You think that's bad, I have had an no internet since midday the 13th and buzz telco told me because I'm on a HFC connection that means settings aren't available for new upstream carrier because the nbn co are having problems. At least you've been transferred with new settings, buzz telco has given me no updates even though they tell you they will. I am starting to think they're lying about the nbn co and it's their problem alone. I am seriously considering changing especially if i can do it fairly quickly, I've had to buy a $30 prepaid sim just to get internet for the wkend cause my current sim plan is maxed out now because of this and data packs are too expensive compared to a prepaid starter pack. I doubt I'll see any sort of compensation for that. I am further annoyed because I missed a buy on the markets last night because the sim I bought dropped out it's internet for 30mins costing me a thousand dollar gain. I am pissed.

  • IS you NBN still down? wtf i saw the post yesterday.
Ive been with myrepublic for 13 months now and not a single outage.

This price isn't bad now that Myrepublic pricing has gone up.

    • yes it is still not connected.

  • How long was/is BuzzTelco down?

  • They must be changing over from AAPT to Vocus now. I wonder what that would do to their speeds once the change over is complete

    • I'm with ausBBS, and my experience is not good. 100/40 plan that I max out at 30mbps download when I'm lucky, but hit 6pm and speeds goto crap, 1-2mbps, clearly not enough cvc. Customer support is woeful (hardly answer the phone, don't call back).

For me I'm looking for another carrier who don't oversubscribe…

      • Wow I thought ABB was the current best across the board

        • +4

AusBBS and ABB are two different providers.

        • @Stix: ahh my bad was wondering why they had unlimited now.. Makes sense

      • You're an unlucky one, my AusBBS service is technically great however the customer service has gone down the toilet since being acquired by Amaysim. I'm not recommending them to anyone any longer.

      • Im with skymesg,93mbs until peak hits and drops to 1-5 mbs..

I think Telecube is a better deal. $69/month, month to month, $99 set up fee, 100/40, 1TB Peak + 5TB Offpeak

And two backhaul providers (ABB & vocus) which they can apparently switch between for many.

      • And apparently the problems people had with Vocus have been resolved.

        • I hope so, mine is coming. But its nice to know they can switch between providers fairly quickly. I like the redundancy.

  • Some of you are lucky. Many of us had the outage since Thursday last week :(

I signed up with Infinity Telco, back online same day.

After 5 days offline, I asked buzz telco to refund my last two invoices and cancel service. They did so in 24 hours, no questions asked.

  • I've spoken to Buzz. They had issues with AAPT and have had to do an unplanned migration of services to Vocus, and due to the nature of the change they have to update each customer profile, so it's not that they are an unreliable provider, it is that they themselves were stuffed around.

    • True, but for 5 days they just told us 'we have nothing to tell you and we're looking into it'

They knew it was issues with upstream provider and didn't notify customers at all. No email, text message, FB update (the one they posted was 6 days after it started happening)

Anytime we contacted support, no one could tell us anything about what was going on

      • Are you in WA?

        • Yup

        • @pjmcshane: That was an unrelated issue to the current situation, but it's understandable to be frustrated with the shortcomings in communication.

        • @Online Bathroomware:

Isn't the current issue due to swapping upstream providers? If not, that means they also lied to me haha.

Lol great to be getting more support from 'Online Bathroomware'. I've taken my money elsewhere anyway so all good

i had adsl with AusBBS, customer service was awful, took them a month to fix a DLM cap despite me telling them exactly how to fix it (it's a 5 minute job), another time I had to take a day off work to wait for a Telstra tech only to get an email at 4.45pm saying they'd forgotten to log the job and could I take the next day off as well. And DOG help you if you ever move house… that's when I ended up cancelling.

  • Poor value from a poor company. They've been terrible since being bought out. Plenty of better offers from better companies - see Whirlpool (Other Broadband) for many of them.

Care to post an NBN bargain please. We definitely need one.
