  • How good/bad are these, honestly?

      These are convenient and speedy.

Great for smaller places and apartments as the storage on it doesn't hold much and lasts around 15-20 minutes.

Fine for a small place and great for hard floors and loop pile.

For plush pile the motorised head isn't powerful enough and won't turn.

Main annoyance is that it's a pain to empty, especially once it fills right up as the dirt and hair compacts and jambs and the run time is only about 15 minutes.

Once it goes flat it takes about 4 hours to recharge fully.

I'm happy with mine as I only have a small 2 bedroom place and it does a decent job on a single charge, haven't used my barrell vac in almost a year.

3 br house here - We use ours for quick and speedy cleanups. Definitely not enough charge for a proper house vaccuum. But great for a quick go through the bathroom and kitchen and lounge area. We have hardwood floors and no carpet which helps. For a proper house clean we use our old Dyson barrel vac.

if you have someone with long hair in household, get V8 or V7 as those have better canister emptying mechanism and you wont have to fish out hair stuck around cylinder. otherwise good.

I treat these like an awesome dustpan and brush.

Excellent for a quick spot vacuum, or cleaning up an isolated mess.

Not a replacement for a conventional vacuum if you have a typical house.

I'm very happy with mine and use it often.

    • agree with the other comments. battery life is bad so is not a replacement vacuum to do your whole house. we have a v6 absolute or ultimate i can't remember which slogan..
Can just get through our two small bedrooms (carpet) and then simply sweep rest of house and use like a dustpan and broom as another poster does
think the manual said about 12 mins on max power or 22 on half power

    • I do two bedrooms, a lounge room and a hallway with charge to spare, routinely. So I'm always confused when people say that the battery isn't good enough to do a whole house. Maybe if I tacked an extra bedroom on I'd run out, but then again sometimes I do the kitchen floor, laundry and toilet as well so I doubt it. Li-Ion battery capacity does degrade over time though so maybe some people are experiencing that. Or maybe they:

      • use Turbo mode all the time which I personally think is generally unnecessary
      • own rather large houses and/or have a home with a low furniture to bare floor ratio
      • have really fluffy carpets that might put a bit more strain on the power head
      • have a tendency to go over the same area more than is strictly necessary with a power head

Hard to say. But I do think the question of whether or not it can do a whole house requires some consideration and qualification.

(we still have a more traditional Miele here with a turbo head but I haven't needed to get it out once since we've had the V6 Slim)

The most significant part of this equation though is that it makes vacuuming so easy that I really don't mind doing it.

  • They do not have any Absolute Plus's for some reason….but good deal otherwise….

  • I have the DC58, anyway to buy just the stick part?

  • The voucher code: PARTY18 isn't working for me. It says: "Looks like that's the wrong code." Anyone else have the same issue?
