The price
I got one a few weeks ago and found I have to scribble on some paper first before it will write properly.
It's one more item in the house you can replace by our favorite Chinese brand.
It's cheap, the refills aren't too expensive, and it writes really well. Don't know what is wrong with phbk's one, the original ink and the refills I bought (both from Gearbest) all write very smoothly and everyone who borrows my pen at work comments on how nicely and easily it writes.

I wouldn't class this as "smooth writing" at all.
It feels scratchy as and I have trouble getting it to produce a decent line without holding it on a serious angle. (Like 50-60 degrees)
It may be a dodgy refill i've got in it, but I'm not impressed so far.
Mine are great, sounds like you got a dud.
I find 0.5mm too fine a point for smooth script as it digs into the paper.

It's strange, I got this deal in my email the other day, but I've never been tempted. I love pens, even though I don't use them, and I love Xiaomi. Shit, I almost bought goggles a little while ago here simply because it said Xiaomi - no way I would ever use them…
And here is a pen, from the brand. Cheap, some say good, yet looking at it I don't like it.

I love this pen at at this price it's a no brainer - it truly is a great pen and writes beautifully.
Just got one today. Paid a premium to get it in a rush.. whatever it's a few dollars. I hate writing but enjoy a good pen when I have to.
This is great. Like most things it's a personal preference, but if nothing else, it's almost identical to Parker refills and fits my other pens. Far superior to the Parker gel refill I paid $10 for from Officework.
