I also have ordered these from Banggood for anyone that wants/needs the base converter

Thanks for that. Bought 10 - with the discount and coupon it came to just over $12.

      • Discount and coupon? Where?

        • In the above link. There's currently a discount on them, but I bought 10, so my price went down further.
Two lines under the price there's a coupon button, which will give you a code as well.

    • Why not just get a bayonet mount globe in the first place?

      • +3

        i like to screw lol

      • JV is back!

Because they don't sell a bayonet mount version.

        • Because they don't sell a bayonet mount version.

Why not? Are all other countries screwed??

  • this is not the RGB version right?

    • No white only

  • Is it enough to light up a 4m X 4m room? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Three steps closer to a Googley-light home. Thanks OP.

      Correction:

Three steps closer to a Googley-light Xiaomi home

      • Technically true. Though I do use the Google Home more than the Yeelight app for my lights.

  • Anybody know if these can be dimmed lower or are warmer then the RGB ones?

    • I think this one comes with wifi control as well. So yes, it can be dimmed by using the Mi Home app on your phone

  • I have a few of the RGB ones. Anyone actually have a use for multicoloured ones ?

    • Not sure about yeelights but I have a lifx bulb that flashes to blue when i get a text, red when i get a gmail and changes to solid blue when it rains.

Mine flashes red when the Mrs heads to the bedroom.

I'm using the Mi RGB light bulb in my room. Other than the white (which you could also change its light temperature) is more useful, the other colours are decent but not as useful. Plus, the colour mode is not as bright as the white which is a minus IMO…

Just a heads up guys. The Chinese are gathering usage data. They've already ascertained that these lights are used mostly at night time. Eerie!

    Thanks OP got 3 bulbs.

Had anyone mounted their yeelight inside an oyster fitting?

  • Too late now. :(

  • damn way too late. I bought 2 of these from bangoods then a week later 1 from Gearbest, i got the gearbest one 2 weeks ago. no signs of the bangoods order yet, 6 weeks and waiting.

The light is good. not as bright as the lifx bulbs but much much cheaper, i wouldn't light my whole house with them but they are good for hallways, outside and bedrooms. the Lifx is superb for the lounge and games room.

  • How do these work? Do you leave the light switch on and then just use your phone to turn the light bulb on and off?

    • Yes, you plug it in and leave it on. Connect it to your home Wifi using your phone, then use your phone/Google Home/Alexa/etc to control it.
