I find this alcohol delivery service odd. Does the person who delivers it have an RSA? Do they check your ID? Clearly, if you were at a licensed venue and rather intoxicated they would have to refuse you service, is it the same with this? If so, when they arrive, if you are too drunk, does your order just get refunded?

    • No idea about the RSA but they did check my ID.

Almost every liquor chain does delivery so the laws must be fairly lax. Dan Murphys even says you can request your order to be left on your doorstep.

Thanks for the reply. I was aware that some places delivered alcohol but assumed those would all be much longer delivery times so an intoxicated person could make an order but the time it arrived they would likely no longer be intixicated.

    • Go ahead and neg me but my questions are genuine questions I would love to know the answers to. Here in QLD we can’t even get alcohol as part of our online grocery orders

      • That's interesting. Over here in WA we can get alcohol / cigarettes delivered with our Woolworths orders. I just checked Brisbane CBD and BWS offer delivery there.

We have had this kind of service for a while via a liquor store who operates on eatnow but they are much more expensive. I think its better than someone driving drunk.

Totally agree about the driving and maybe that is where the difference is. As long as they aren’t drunk and disorderly in a public place perhaps the law says they can drink to their hearts content?

@loulou1: And rightly so. The government shouldn't dictate what people do in there own homes so long as they aren't harming others.

      They do have an RSA

      They do check ID

IF you are intoxicated or cant produce ID they take the order back to the store.

      • This.

The individual drivers don't have to hold an RSA (at least here in NSW).
