American Express Points Transfer - to Where?

I'm closing my AmEx card account in preparation for a home loan application. The points has to be spent somehow. If I transfer it, what is the best option regarding rate and choices? AmEx website listed the following:

AIR NEW ZEALAND
Air New Zealand
ASIA MILES

P.S. I'm a silver member of Qantas - don't know if that means something to my strategy.

  It depends how many points you have and what you want to get out of it. If you only have a small balance, Velocity is probably the one that will give you the most options.

  Quite a few reported good experience selling their points to OP in this post. Just another option.

  Thanks for all the inputs - it turns out the points can be gifted, but AmEx service people insists on not calling it transfer, but "gift". You need to fill a form and post it to them through AusPost. I am going to do that.

    Lodge it electronically too via their secure forms. I’ve had ‘gift’ forms that were ausposted in never processed. Whereas every secure form I’ve sent, was actioned in a reasonable timeframe.
