Good drive though it does seem to wind down rather quickly and needing to wind up again at times compared to other drives in my computer.

Performance is good though once it gets going. I hear many people getting it just for better performing PS4's hence stock is always low.

It's a 2TB 5400RPM drive with 8GB of flash memory on-board, for $114. If you're installing it in a machine that you can't set up caching (like a games console), then that flash is a good thing, and might be worth paying the premium for. Otherwise, I'd look at a normal 2tb drive and set up a cache on an SDCard, which should work out cheaper.

    • On Amazon, the special price makes the FireCuda one of the cheapest 2.5" 2TB drives, so there's no premium to pay for.

SDCard is nowhere near as fast as the 8GB MLC onboard. Not worth the effort to set up caching this way.

How about just buy an SSD.

But this is cheaper than a 2TB SSD.

Side note - I would imagine this would be great if you are setting up a Fusion drive on a Mac.
