  • Hi, just wondering where you guys are located and how long it would take to deliver to sydney?

Do you have Express shipping as an option?

    Cheers.

    • +1

We are located in Sydney. It will usually take the same day or next business day to get to you, depending on when the courier will pick up.

      • Your site said you had an eBay store. Same name as your website?

        • +1

Yeah we do, except we are putting that on hold for philosophical reasons. Like squeeksqueek said, I am weird. We'd rather give you the savings from our fees doing it this way.

@pizzaofpeace: Totally understandable. I prefer you use a credit card payment, makes my life easier, makes your life easier.

If I screw you in some way, just do a charge back. Then my name here is dirt, which I think is worse than being known for being weird.

        • @pizzaofpeace: Also, in one of our previous deals where we put it through one of our retailers, a hard drive went DOA. Ask [@julz] how we responded to that situation.

Edit: Urgh, I don't know how to tag the user.

          @sm007h: Hrm, ok.

        • +2

          @sm007h:

For those who want to know my experience -
I bought a 2tb hard drive that arrived dead. Not surprised since the bubble wrap around the standard packaging was very thin and couriers are known to be rough with parcels. Anyway Phillip helped sort it out quickly and arranged return courier at his expense and sent me a 4tb drive as a gesture of goodwill. I didn't expect this nor think it was necessary but was much appreciative. To be honest I would probably never order a hard drive online again just to save $10 when I could go to Officeworks and pick it up in store and also return it in store if I had issues. However I would definitely consider ordering from Phillip again in the future for other products if they were a good price.

        • @sm007h: cool, ill give it a chance and place an order! Any chance I can get the item by this Friday? I’ll PM the order details later

        • @pizzaofpeace: thanks mate. I think I know which one is your order. It is a good chance you will get it by Thursday, if not, then definitely Friday

        • @sm007h: I put the order down earlier this morning. Looking forward to seeing it on Friday.

        • @sm007h: I hope mine will come tomorrow.

        • @wow ozbargain: All goods will be leaving tomorrow morning. As the first group of customers to our site, we have decided to send a mystery gift with all headphone orders. We won't spoil the surprise but we hope that it will be well received. Thank you for your support.

        • +1

@pizzaofpeace: Looks like two of you received your delivery order today. Please let me know what you thought of the free gift we bundled for you :)

EDIT: I should add, they were Sydney deliveries that were received. I am guessing tomorrow will be the other states.

        • @sm007h: No I haven't

        • @sm007h:

Hey smoo7h, got my order! All good in shape, the mdr1000xm2's were great. And thanks for the surprise gift. You didn't have to, but I really appreciate it.

Tried them out as soon I charged them for 10 minutes, to make sure they worked - and they did!

The touch functions Sony added are pretty nifty.

All in all, a trustworthy purchase :D

Also, any chance you can email me the tax invoice for TRS?

          Cheers.

        • +2

@pizzaofpeace: Glad everything worked out fine. I was hoping a reaction like, wow, a Seagate 2TB Portable Expansion HDD for free? Amazing!

          :p

Accounts will be sending you an invoice tomorrow.

        • @sm007h:

LOL! Well, yeah, it was amazing, I just didn't want to spoil the surprise.

Also, didn't want to build expectations around here that you will be chucking in a free HDD with every order :P

But like I said, much appreciated. Looking to see the other cool stuff you'll be having on your site. I think your selection now is pretty decent, and the products are geared towards premium high end goods in those categories.

        • @sm007h: However, noticed you have the most recent gens of those products too…

Having the older versions at a discount would be good too, especially if the new gen is disappointing, like the bose qc35.

        • +2

@pizzaofpeace: I know there are a lot of doubters here but like I said before, these products are originally deals with our corporate clients - the premium range is a reflection of who we deal with. It doesn't look good for us to be offering last generation products.

Whatever clearance items we get are generally gobbled up by our retail clients, however, we might leave some for our site in future. Thanks for your early support despite all the negativity, and also for your feedback. Much appreciated.

        • @sm007h: I received my headphone too. It is real, and thanks for the gift.

        • @wow ozbargain: Awesome, thanks for your early support. I also have to say, I love our courier service. Fast delivery makes a huge difference - especially in this scenario.

    What is your ABN?

The ABN your domain is registered to has been cancelled, and is not registered for GST…
    Registrant Mekong Investments Pty Ltd
    Registrant ID ABN 70122032142
    https://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?SearchText=7012…
Entity name: Mekong Investments Pty Ltd
ABN status: Cancelled from 15 Dec 2014
    Entity type: Australian Private Company
Goods & Services Tax (GST): Not currently registered for GST
    Main business location: NSW 2111

    EDIT:
This? not registered for GST? you must have a very small turn over? backyarder?
    https://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?abn=80164915315

    • Hmm, I am surprised that company was used as a registrant since that is a very old company we used to hold properties. I don't think a backyarder can do these promises, so no, not a backyarder. However, we have several companies that we have laid idle until we re-use it again. C.O.W is one that was going to be designated to deal with the public.

      • +2

So what is your ABN? and are your registered for GST? … with no physical address this all seems very dodgy, I certainly wouldn't give you my money!

        • I understand your sentiment, however, as I have said, you can always have a charge back via credit card.

The ABN we will be using for this venture is 39 751 630 385 until it gets large enough to be its own entity.

Our physical address is 1/10 Straits Avenue, South Granville. NSW. 2142. We are not geared to allow public pickup so thats why we avoid adding that address into our site.

Only 10 feedback on eBay store, of which 1 is negative.

Also, as per FLICKIT. ABN not registered. No way I'm doing bank transfer for payment or CC for that matter.

    • We only started the ebay store two months ago. The negative feedback was because we cancelled all existing orders due to a particular organisation wanting details of our suppliers and we are not willing to provide sensitive information. I don't understand why he wanted to put a negative feedback when I told him that if we cannot find a resolution within two business days, we are cancelling all orders and doing refunds immediately. He also had the option to have an immediate refund but chose to wait the two days.

Just to be clear, I initiated the cancellation AND the refund and when he found out about it, he made the negative comment.

    • But why don't we look at the common theme of the positive comments? All mentioned how fast our delivery times were, and that they had no problems with the products. We delivered what we promised and cancelled what we cannot fulfil.

      • Just to clarify, are we paying gst when we buy from you? I would like to claim TRS!

        • Yes, you can claim the GST. Mate, I am going to deliver personally to you tomorrow and give you an extra discount in cash. I will give you a call tomorrow afternoon.

        • @sm007h: Lol, the goods and valid invoice will do. Also, no need for personal delivery.

        • @pizzaofpeace: Gah, all good, just ummm a bit uppity for some strange reason…

        • @FLICKIT: I am sorry, but I don't think I have had a bad attitude. I have not resorted to any personal name insults or anything else negative.

          @FLICKIT:

I was somewhat more comfortable buying through ijk and had no idea who crazy or what was when I had to deal with them.

Credit cards will protect buyers anyway but agree it would be a hassle.

    • +2

      OP, this …

Our direct-to-the-public trial on Ebay has been extremely successfulhttps://crazyorwhat.com.au/about-us/

      … is not that …

Only 10 feedback on eBay store, of which 1 is negative. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/5205850/redir

      • I do not ask for every buyer to leave a feedback. Look at every one that was positive first. Then try to understand that I cannot please everyone. That one negative feedback was for me INITIATING the cancellation and refund because I know I cannot resolve my dispute on time to ensure a speedy delivery. SO let me explain this again:-
        1. We had a dispute with an organisation.
        2. We notified all existing orders that we have a problem that may take a few days to resolve. Do you wish to cancel now or wait a few days? After a few days, we will cancel anyways and issue refunds.
        3. Two days later, we cancelled all existing orders and made refunds.
        4. One person out of the 11 cancelled orders put a neg on it. Read his comments - did he negged that I tried to scam him? Did he negged that I tried to run off with his money? Or did he think I was just making excuses and then cancelling the order? I cancelled his order so I don't hold his funds any longer than necessary - so shoot me if I think that is the right thing to do. Let me note this again - he complained that I cancelled his order. He wasn't the one cancelling the order.

So when anything might impact our customers, my first priority is to ensure I don't put them out any further. I don't value my success just based on the sales turnover, I base it on how my company deals with customers when things go wrong. Based on the Ebay incident and also the DOA from julz, I think we are quite successful.

Why do you concentrate on the one negative and not see the common theme of the positive comments? They all refer to how quick we deliver orders, and some of them refer to the quality of the goods. I think based on this, we also have been extremely successful. I mean, from order to delivery to Nowra in two days - that was pretty amazing if you ask me.

    • Hi,

Just wanted to let you know I received my order, and got what I ordered. In 2 days as well, thought I live in the sydney area.

No dodgy fake version, no DOA product. Just new, real, functional, mdr1000xm2 headphones.

  • i forgot why i came here :(

    • For the dad jokes?

  • +2

    Yeah. Nah….

    • I am hoping those that have ordered will provide feedback here once they receive their orders. Its funny how there are those who will take risks on an unknown overseas site, having the credit card charge back as security, but find this deal a bit too much. Oh well.

And it's not like I haven't done the hard drive deal before here.

  • Cheaper here:-

    https://crazyorwhat.com.au/product/seagate-4tb-expansion-por…
    $189.00 - 10% code Screwthis = $170.10 Delivered
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Seagate-Expansion-4TB-Extern…
    $139.65 - 10% code PERK10 = $125.68 + $38.24 International Priority Shipping = $163.92 … takes longer, but with PayPal.

    • Yeah, that's a slightly better price, except it isn't local stock. There is no difference as a consumer if you pay via Paypal or credit card - you still have the charge back option if there are any issues.

      • +2

Even though eBay charges fees and OzBargain charges nothing, it is cheaper than what you charge your fellow OzBargain members, so …

We'd rather give you the savings from our fees doing it this way. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/5205703/redir

… feel free to price match …

        • -2

Please tell me you are trolling me?

Ebay charges you final value fees - whatever the final price is, they take a cut out of it. Paypal also takes a cut out of the final value fees.

You are also asking to price match an overseas stock. Show me an Aussie retailer with Aussie stock that is cheaper and I will price match that.

        • +2

  • Wow, this is great. I feel sorry for OP if he's not a scammer now but the thread has pretty much has me convinced he is.

    • +1

Yeah, I have resigned to the fact I am going to lose this thread. I am not too worried though because I am here for the long haul. I hope my conduct hasn't been negative in this thread though.

One thing that puzzles me though, it is easier to pull other scams than try to run away with credit card funds. And to do it so openly is crazy talk.

      • +1

Na, you've been fine. I think the ABN debacle was the main thing, that and offering a personal delivery with a cash discount ;) After seeing Julz post I doubt you're a scammer. Good luck

      • +4

Maybe this experience will encourage you to get your business sorted out and run it professionally, at the moment it seems very amateurish… (and most likely a fly-by-night business that wont exist next week)..

.get your own ABN and get registered for GST.
.get the domain registration info correct.
.remove the lies and bullshit from your website.
.list your ABN and physical address on your website.
.get Paypal (a lot of people see this as a mark of legitimacy)

        • -2

Listen, you have been throwing a lot of things at me and I am not going to bite. I am sure I will see you respond to my post next month, and the month after, and so on. Like I said, if you want any products listed here, you can purchase it through IJK. If you want to buy at the non-discounted price (the price without the discount code), I can organise for you to buy it through Groupon and I will backend that. Take up on that offer please.

    • Well, I got my order safe and sound. Quick delivery too, in time for my flight tomorrow.

  • Incredibly tempted by the WH-1000XM2….. But I have the MDR-1000X (not cracked yet) so I don't know if I should pull the trigger yet

    • I don't think sound quality has improved significantly, but battery life improvement appears to be huge. Check this review here

Maybe you can get a relatively good price for your MDR-1000 on the secondhand market?

  • So you did not say anything about shipment?

    • Free shipping for standard delivery. $15 if you want insurance

      • I’ve bought a 1000x m2, Can you ship that today?

        • Hi Jamie sorry your order will be picked up tomorrow morning. Courier will sms you on the day of delivery. They are quite quick though

  • +1

I’ve bought a 1000x m2, the price is quite good. I’ve read through T&C too, seems legit. But to be honest, you need to improve your brand awareness and definitely need some marketing help, you can pm me if you want for these helps. Also, like someone said in this thread, put your proper ABN on your website, and local address too if you’re claiming yourself is a local store.

  • hey op. So you purchase via Disties and act as a reseller? Like who are you affiliated with?

    • Some through disties, some direct with the manufacturer, some where prices are negotiated direct with the manufacturer but order is put through with disties.

  • hey OP, is your DJI Mavic qualified for the DJI Care Refresh?
    https://store.dji.com/product/dji-care-refresh-mavic-pro

    • Hi, I dont see why there will be an issue since our product is an official Australian product. If you want to make sure, we can send you the serial number and you can register yourself before you order with us. I will then reserve that unit for you.

    • Hi diend, just checking if you are still interested in the Mavic Pro? Our sale ends tonight, otherwise you can always go to our Ebay store.

  • Hey, I'm looking into the Sony 1000XM2. So just to confirm, I'll be able to claim 10% TRS at the airport? I need a physical invoice which states the amount of GST paid. Will $429 or $386.1 be displayed?

And how long is the warranty? 1 year or 2 years? No offence, but your website looks sketchy at best. I see your account on eBay with the same price if purchased with that eBay code from yesterday, so could you drop the price more?

    • Yes, you will be able to claim GST. The invoice amount is the discounted amount - $386.10, since we are collecting that amount. Warranty period is per Sony Australia warranty and also ACL. I would assume with such a premium headphone that warranty should be 2 years. Regardless, if Sony only supports 1 year, we will extend it to 2 years (Please look at our Returns Policy).

In terms of our website, we went cheap on it. It's functional.

In terms of Ebay and our site being the same price, it's because we don't jack our prices on Ebay. There will be those that complain that some retailers sell at a higher price on Ebay.

For your case, it's probably better for you to purchase through Ebay, since the 10% is really Ebay paying that amount, so our invoice is at $429. Either way, you will get the same level of service (we will still pay for all courier charges if you need to do a warranty claim). Just add a note who you want the invoice addressed to, and provide us with an email address to send the invoice to. Also add your mobile number so we can speed up our courier booking - they will sms you when they are doing the delivery.

      • Hmm, can you restock on the QC35 at Microsoft's price? They had it for 360 - 10% = $324. I don't necessarily want to pay $386 for an extra button.

        • Sorry bud, not much stock left of the first version in the whole of Australia.

          What about the Sennheiser?

        • @sm007h: I've heard they have a tight clamp, not too keen on them unfortunately. After a bit of research it seems like the Sony still has the snapping issue from the first gen. I'll be travelling soon so I can't risk a fragile product, seems like Bose QC35 series are my only option. Hesitant to spend an extra $60 for a button.

        • @adonbilivit: I think its not just an extra button (although it is very convenient to use that button as a NC on/low/off button). They claimed to have a significantly longer battery life.

        • @sm007h: Yeah, but Myer deal still seems to be better after TRS since it's 1/11 of 500 rather than your 386! Comes down to Myer 355 vs your 350. I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but the extra 5 bucks for peace of mind wins me over.

Definitely still considering the 1000XM2 though, just worried about the build quality. How long is your 10% off for? I'll probably decide on the 30th (when Myer 20% off deal expires).

        • @adonbilivit: Perfectly understandable. Our voucher expires Sunday night. I suggest you go to a retailer to try them out. I was quite amazed at how well the Sony NC worked.

        • @sm007h: Yeah I saw them at JB the other day but didn't try since I'm a slight germaphobic. Will grab some tissues with me for next time, gotta wipe em a bit first!

  • +1

Just a reminder the sale ends tonight. We have added a few more products for you to take advantage of. Cheers!

    • Thanks for your early support - it meant a lot to us. I hope we have met your delivery expectations.
