PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Pre-Order Xbox One $34 @ JB Hi-Fi in-Store

170

The preorder's have been announced for PUBG today, and the game is going to game preview 12/12. The RRP in Australia is $39.95 according to Microsoft Store and EB Games

It's actually a code for the digital game in which I'm assuming is a physical game case. It should be $34 when you preorder in store at JB. Otherwise delivery is $3.50. If anything I said is wrong, please correct me.

  • Hmm, I wonder if I'll miss Fortnite BR.

    • I can safely say that you will not.

    • Not after the latest update.

      • How so?

        • ? They've started adding progression, daily challenges and rewards.

        • @Baebs: Oh, you’re saying I will miss it. I thought you meant I won’t since you wrote “not after the latest update”.

        • @Stix: what? I'm saying you won't miss it (I'm talking about the fortnite update)

@Baebs: I'm so confused. :) Are you saying progression, daily challenges and rewards are bad things and therefore I won't miss Fortnite if I switch to PUBG?

  • Is pick up in store available?

Love this game even though it is glitchy af!

Just a fair warning, wait until the game is actually out.
Barely runs decently on mid-high end PC rigs and is still super buggy.

    • Yep I can vouch.

Highly demanding game on your hardware…

    • My thoughts exactly, I can already hear people crying about how broken it will be on Day 1 release.

  • the game is going to release 12/12

Isn't it going whatever the equivalent of Steam Early Access is on Xbox … ?

    • Yeah sorry, I meant game preview, but it is going to release on steam same date. Changed post.

  • PUBG runs fine on my PC. I would imagine console would be better optimized due to the hardware being all the some.

      GTX 1060 is enough for 1920x1080 60 FPS …

      • +3

Mileage may vary, game has frame drops even if it runs 60fps 90% of the time, some towns are so poorly optimised you'll lose a lot of frames, and high end PC support is lack luster i.e. trying to run the game stable 1440p @ 144hz on highest with a GTX 1080 is hopeless even when the game looks like arse compared to other titles.

Even though the game is somewhat buggy and the occasional hacker ruins a match, it's still one of the most fun games I've played with friends in a while! It's nice to just quickly jump on for a match or two then back real life haha

  • Is this going to be a physical release?

    • +20

If you buy it dinner first.

    • It'll be a Code in a Box - as in a slip of paper (with the code printed) packaged in a regular Xbox One case.

So, yes but not on disc.

      • Well, never mind my comment about getting it then.

Does that mean XB1 players will be playing against PC players? I am totally not good at shooting with a controller, might be tough to beat those using mouses. :|

I was going to say, if console players aren't kept away from PC players it will be a total shitshow.

    • There was some discussion floating around about how the usual console auto-aim kind of thing might actually put PC gamers at a disadvantage… would be even bigger uproar I'd say.

  • Winner winner!

    • Chicken Dinner!

  • Shit.

I'm not gonna lie, I have no real interest in this game, but at this price I might actually jump in. Figured it was gonna go for a full price with the retail version.

  • Any word on a PS4 release?

I wish they would do something about the cheating. Look at this, don't even need a program for it

    • One of the reasons I'm a console gamer. :)

      • I can see why developers are favouring consoles, standard hardware setups and less rubbish to deal with in the 'bug' front.
