Xbox One X with 1 Free Game (FIFA 18, Cod WW2, Star Wars BF2) $599.95 Delivered (Pre-Order) @ Geeky Homewares (with 10% Code)

430
APOXMAS

Second wave of pre-orders shipping 1st December, games are physical (not digital codes) and you choose which one you want. Not as good as their original deal, but still $23 cheaper than the Gamesmen eBay sale if you're planning on purchasing COD WW2 or SW BF2 yourself, or $33 for FIFA 18 (based on current retail prices).

Apparently they're selling it at trade price, so if you were planning on waiting for the Black Friday/Xmas sales, I don't think you'll see a better deal from any of the retailers.

Edit 8/11 345pm: Only 1 COD WW2 bundle is still available, FIFA18 and BF2 options are out of stock.

Edit 2: I asked the store, as there is only 1 option left, if you don't want COD you can message them on their facebook and ask them to switch the game for one of the other two.

    Good price

  • Actually any of these games are native 4k?

    • Fifa 18 is idk about the rest

    • Doubtful with 60fps non-racing games. Nothing wrong with checkerboard at livingroom distances.

    • Fifa 18 and Cod WW2 are enhanced to 4K+HDR, SW BF2 will have HDR enhancements.

Not sure how the enhancements work though, whether its like a 4k texture patch or just dynamic up-scaling.

  • I get the feeling we're going to see quite a few nice deals on the X. Knowing when to jump in is the trick!

Personally I'm waiting for them to release a 2Tb or higher model. Seems kind of odd that they offered 3 different hdd sizes for the one s yet stayed with only a 1tb model for the x.

      • +1

Price is the reason, people would go crazy (bad) if they made it $700-$750 but 2Tb

        • Well, we (and they) know that console HDD prices are a scam compared to retail, let alone OEM to a large company like MS. Same scam that Apple and others propogate. Regardless, 1TB is passable as long as you go into it knowing you need to buy a 4+TB external as part of the deal…

      • dont think the bigger sizes came out a bit later ?

  • I’ll bite when I see it for under $500.
My Xbox one is fine for now I guess

  • Awesome price but I am waiting for a 20% off Microsoft Ebay store thing…. hopefully in the next month ….. :/
By that time they may have the One X on their ebay store ….

    • Yeah - they do some pretty good offers around CHristmas/Boxing Day/New Year's IIRC from last year.

  • Are those games download or physical copies?

    • physical copies - (just updated the description to make it clearer)

      • Dammit, would have bought if they were downloads. (Home sharing).

Anyone who purchased through Microsoft can return within 30 days, so there's potential to take up this offer to save $50 and get an extra game. Microsoft offers free return postage too!

    • eBay Aus is also doing free 'buyer remorse' returns until end of December, as long as the seller is also Aus-based and accepts returns.

  • is it true that high end games are still capped at 30fps?

    • It's a mixture like on base hardware. eg, Battlefront 2 (which is incredibly high end) is 60fps, whereas Destiny 2 is capped at 30. The X is targeted at multiplying the pixel count of base games.

      • should give people the option, 1080/1440p @ 60hz or 4k @ 30. imo

        • I'd like this where possible too, tho the weak CPUs shared by all current platforms means that dropping resolution won't always boost framerate. You'd also have users of base hardware upset about being at a competitive disadvantage.

There are some XBOX One X enhanced games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Gears of War 4 that give you the option of 1080p at 60fps or native 4K at 30fps. The modes are usually called performance (60fps) vs visual mode (30fps).

    • join the PC master race

      • my 1080ti puts me at the top of the pc master race!

        • woah nice dude

  • if I used afterpay to buy it do you think id have to pay hidden fees or anything?

    • +1

provided you don't miss a repayment, nope! afterpay takes their fees from the seller, not the buyer

Just purchased from MS store Pitt St for $649 plus a game for $39 by showing a few deals, down to $588 after Amex discount… so this is a good deal considering I had to walk there and haggle lol

No notice on the post about which games you can choose from. For everybody's sake, it'd be better if they actually list comprehensively what you can choose from - particularly if it includes games that are available in the weeks ahead to 1st November.

    • +3

what do you mean? it's listed on the title here on OzB, and on their website there's a button you can click above the quantity to choose your game

ouch….going to return mine to ebgames

  • Just in case anyone is wondering…. code "APOXMAS" is 10% off anything on that site. Maybe something else on there is also a bargain?

  • Only FIFA 18 is in stock - the other two are not.

    • Lol on my end fifa 18 is out of stock the other 2 are ok :/

  • Wow, new console + 3 new release games. Incredible price.

    • It says 1 free game.

      • Oh I got too excited when I saw the 3 games in brackets

  • FIFA bundle sold out.

    • other 2 are still available

      • I didn't say they weren't.

        • Star Wars also sold out now.

  • Update: I asked the store, as there is only 1 option left, if you don't want COD you can message them on their facebook and ask them to switch the game for one of the other two options

  • Did anyone actually have their unit shipped today? Mine wasn't and I'm not stoked.

  • +1

same here, no email or anything, I just pinged them on FB but no response so far, not impressed …

    • I sent them a DM today and they said they're shipping out today, but I'm taking that with a pinch.

Their exact message to me, unedited "They all arrivde late Friday huge delays at Microsoft now all will leave today".

      • Just got my shipping confirmation. Shipping with Sendle (CouriersPlease). Here's hoping it comes in one piece.
