Rechargeable AA Batteries
Hi fellow bargain hunters,
Anyone know where to get good prices on rechargeable batteries? nimh >2000 mAh
would love some low discharge batteries like sanyo eneloops, varta ready 2 use, recyko+, etc.. but don’t want to pay more than $4 a cell delivered
if they are standard nimh then i would like them >2400 mAh and be a good quality cell
Thanks guys!
I bought GreenCell (I think they’re called) batteries from eBay, they’re the low discharge type and I can thoroughly reccommend them.. I wont be buying regular NiMH’s ever again..
Are you for real????
I charged some Energizer AA’s a while back thinking that they would last for a few months until needed.
I haven’t needed to use them much as most things come with their own rechargeable internal batteries.
But knowing that I will have to recharge them again for up to 15 hours is a real PITA
Try Jaycar they have nimh batteries “powertech” in different ratings Jaycar have many stores With over 47 stores and over 100 Authorised Stockists and Agents throughout Australia and New Zealand, there is sure to be a store near you. (Note “stockists” may sell at higher prices to cover freight etc)
AA 2000mAh Ni-MH - 4 Pack
Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries offer superior features to Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) rechargeable batteries. These features include:
No memory effect
Higher current capacities
High drain performances
All Sub C & D size Ni-MH batteries have new heavy duty solder tabs. $13.95
2400mh = $15.95 (5c under your target - but you have to pick up)

Lol i forgot about this thread,
i ended up putting in a $100+ order at thomas distributing ( http://www.thomas-distributing.com/index.htm )
they are in the u.s. and shipping was $31u.s.
however their sanyo eneloops were $8 for a 4 pack (compare $22 for 4pk at dick smith)
i also ordered 2200mah batteries for about $1 a cell
plus 2500mah batteries for $2 a cell
+ a battery charger that charges 4 batteries at once on individual circuits and can charge/discharge and tell you the real capacity of the batteries (great for finding out if 1 battery of a set is dead, and the other are ok)
The charger i got was called the lacrosse bc-900 or something
I also ordered a few extra eneloop packs to sell on ebay to recover some of my shipping costs!
We pay way too much for batteries in oz!
Sorry to bother you berserkk.
I am going to purchase from them as well.
Did you pay any customs fees?
I was looking at their La Crosse BC-900 with the 8 eneloops for $58 http://thomasdistributing.com/shop/la-crosse-bc900-battery-c...
and maybe adding a few more packs of eneloops for $9 each, spending around $100 like yourself.
There are no customs charges or GST on international purchases under $1000 I believe.
Also when you do a large order have a poke around the site, as they offer you free things with orders over $75 but you have to manually find them and add them to your cart.
If you add the following to your cart they should only cost you about 10c each because as you add them they discount your shipping (down to a minimum of about $31 for international orders)
I can’t find it right now, but I was also able to add other battery and torch specials to my order.
Don’t forget you will also need a us->au pin adapter!

found it ;)
add items from here onto your cart and you will get them for free!
you can add multiple different items!

I read a lot of reviews in regard of this nimh batteries some time ago and some websites even did a test on several brands.
It turned out that Duracell rechargeable and the power brand from dse outlast other rechargeables (energizer, varta etc).
This was some time ago before Sanyo eneloop and Duracell ready-to-use rechargeable (2000mh) on the market.
I noticed they also have Delkin 2300mAh low discharge batteries.
http://thomasdistributing.com/shop/delkin-aa-2300-mah-low-di...
Anyone happened to have tried these? Just wondering if they actually reach their rated capacity. They also quote 600 recharges whereas most others claim 1000.
for only 300mah i would still go the sanyo’s they are top quality and actually hit their rated capacity.
But that said i don’t know anything about delkin

I haven’t used them, but these have pretty good reviews, and fairly cheap too.
I bought some cheap ones off ebay and they don’t last very long when left alone
