They better be giving me 5 days of free PS+ on the end of my subscription :P

  • Game on moles!

  • Capitalising on the BF2 release perhaps to show people what kind of multiplayer they're missing out on if they don't subscribe.

Why do you even need to pay usually to be able play a game you already own online?

Seems weird coming from a PC gamer..

    • +3

      Ask Xbox.

    • Yep..but friends are on psn

Why did the console player cross the road, to render the building on the other side….

But seriously, shitty graphics and frame rates and paying to buy a game then paying again to actually play multiplayer. I really don't see why people play consoles like the PS4 and XBOne.

I've gamed on pc. I got over games crashing more often, always updating drivers, but most annoying is the constant need to update hardware.

Yes everything looks better on PC. But I always feel like I had to have the best hardware, otherwise I felt behind.

Call it laziness I guess. I feel like consoles are better for casual gamers. I just like to pop in a game, let the update happen automatically and just play away.

Also consoles are getting the exclusives that PC's don't.

Either way, there are pros and cons on both sides. Enjoy whatever you enjoy ;)

Agreed. I used to play PC games, but you have to keep thinking about upgrading graphic card; ram; cpu, etc. Console games are just way easy to manager and more games to be honest.

        • I've also had the case many times when I've brought a PC game home, then had to fix drivers etc just to get it to work. While I love PC gaming, console is just so much easier to use. As I'm time-poor, I'm generally going with what I know will always work.
Plus, it's more relaxing to lie back on the couch with a controller in hand then sit at a desk with my mouse and keyboard.
It all depends on what you want from your gaming.

ex pc gamer here, worrying about your gaming rig etc and showing off how high res you can run World of warcraft used to be fun, when I was single. Mindless grinding and all nighters..

For me, convenience of having a console are built for all gamers alike, especially if you have kids. You just want to jump on and play a little bit of Horizon Zero Dawn.. and log off.

Main reason i stopped pc gaming?? The amount of hacks and hackers u get on multiplayer games on pc. Console hacks are limited, mostly just glitches. Then again i still play single player games on pc sometimes.

I agree, PS3 multiplayer is/was free, unfortunately less and less people use PS3 now. I refuse to buy any PS4 game that requires PS Plus to play (there are some games that you can play multiplayer without PS Plus, you just have to find them)

      • Really? which games?

        • +1

Fortnite Battle Royale - Free game and free multiplayer. It's like PUBG but more casual. Has like 20 million players currently.

I remember when the PS3 was released and one of its selling points and main advantages over the 360 was free online multiplayer. Guess Sony couldn't resist any longer.

    • can't be helped, these days games are still priced the same as it were 10 years ago. They need other avenues of revenue or else they won't be able to spend on research and development for better consoles

    • Been having this argument for long. PS4 online should be free as PS3

  • -1

Make it free else I will never use that service. Trial period too short make it for a month for those working full time

  • Great timing for the free Overwatch trial

  • Typical I got a month's PSN on Friday haha

  • This is pretty cool as I refuse to pay for something like this. I come mainly from a PC gaming background where once you've paid for a game you should be able to play all it offers at no additional cost. Unless of course it's a game with regular content updates.

    Lol paying to play online
    Lol @ Console Gamers

Still got PS3 here and still free not sure what you mean it's only PS4

And yet PC gamers tend to pirate and don't even dire to go online with illegal copies not sure what you mean.

Console gaming no hassles. PC gaming the time to deal with hardware upgrades can be spent on enjoying games not tinkering with your Radeon or Geforce video cards

      Therefore lol @ PC gamers

      It's a money pit

Lets not forget that up until recently all games were free to play online / multiplayer don't pay for PSN boycott it

    • thank you anonymous

  • I'm gonna play online like it's 2009.

    For free.
    Like it was.
    Like it should be.

Just kidding, online can suck me anyway.

    • Ha, I actually play my dreamcast online for free :D

      • Didn't DC need SegaNet or some bullshit? Or was that the Saturn?

        • There are hosted servers now, which allow you to play certain games like quake arena. Luckily I have a broadband adaptor. There is a hack to using a raspberry pi as a modem as well.

        • @Dreamcast: Not sure if I've been yelling about Quake 3 here as well, but that's a damn good example.

I picked up a 360 from Cashies the other day for 18 bucks solely to download Quake Arena Arcade. I got the PS2 version but the load times kill it for me. Xperia Play version was great 5 years ago, but the controls just aren't quite good enough. 360 version is pretty (profanity) great.
