I suspect there are lots of us in this boat. I'm trying to work out at which point I buy this 'K' version.

    This or the cheaper V20?

    • I'd go the better specced Mi6 and cheaper too at $416 on the recent sale posted, gearbest I think.

      • Still available at that price? Warranty same?

    • v20 if you want 3 directional mics + removable batt.
G6 if you want waterproof + near borderless screen

      • +1

V20 also has bootloops. Bonus feature. Still waiting for mine to come back from warranty… 4-6 weeks to go. All up I'll be without a phone for about 2.5 months

        • oh really? how long did u have yours?

        • @homersyd:

          3 months

        • @sabaramo: wow tat's no good…so far after 6+ mths mine is still fine….knock on wood…

  • Can you put a SD card on this H870K model?

  • Hi all
Notice that LG G6 and LG V20 is still using Quadcore processor,… is it still worth getting since now seems to be OctaCore in most phones?

    • +1

Depends if you need the cpu speed gain, these are still a cut above the current mid-range cpu's. But like all tech if you can get the newest specs for similar $ then go for those… (i'm talking flagship phone vs flagship phone not just random phone that has SD835 and is garbage in everything else).. hehehe

    • The SD 820/821 is outdated. Your better off with the Mi6 mentioned above, or if you can get a Oneplus 5 under $500 on sale you'd be laughing.

    • +1

The speed of the cpu is just one consideration. There are phones with better specs which have poorer usability due to an inferior design

      • Ditto that, but a Oneplus 5 may outdo many phones specs, and offer better value as well.

Yeah except nearing the end of 2017, Chinese phones still have problems like this:
          https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/11/14/oneplus_backdoor/

Plus poor support for band 28 and yes, it does matter now as its what Optus and Telstra are rolling out everywhere and have been for the past 2 years. It's the overall package that matters.

    • The V20 is very smooth, day to day use I haven't noticed any issues. I don't play games but taking photos, scrolling photos its very quick.

I wonder why there's so many upvotes in the previous post but not this one given the price is much better…

This was posted at the same price a couple weeks ago here and only expired yesterday. There's some comments there that this model has a number of downsides over the DS model.

  • JB Hifi is doing $699 for the 64GB model, if you pricebeat at HarveyNorman with AMEX ($100 off), its $599 only dual sim

    • whats the AMEX $100 off ?

Something you need to sign up for before hand or Harvey instore deal ?

Bought this for my daughter and I think it's a great phone. I have the galaxy S8 which is slightly nicer in looks but the LG is very close to it. I'd prefer the 2 year Australian warranty than a cheaper better spec Chinese phone.

  • I bought a G6 and my partner bought an S8, the G6 just gets so much right. At the beginning I thought I might have buyers remorse but 6 months down the track and I don't regret my purchase at all.

  • Been looking for some sub $400 deals on the LG v20, anyone found anything?

  • It is a nice price, but it is K version.
DS has 2 sims, 64 GB of memory and quad dac unlike this one.
DSU is same as DS but it has 128 GB of memory and other slight differences. It is called LG g6+ (plus).
I bought the DSU grey import for $600 it is a tough choice but I decided to take a risk. It still has a 1 year warranty but hopefully I will not need it (the warranty)…

    • hi dosifey would you mind telling me where you got yours for 600..

      • Strictly speaking I have not got it yet, just payed for it. ) Still waiting.
        Android anjoyed.

        • Android enjoyed has terrible reputation here at ozbargain..hopefully yours will go through well..are you getting B&O headphones?

        • @Ravi774:
Yes, I checked their product review page… Mixed feedback. So I just hope for the best.

They say it does not have the headphones and has wireless charging, I do not think it has wireless charging.

        • @dosifey: AFAIK, G6+ comes with wireless charging. It's what the G6 should have been, rather than these regional variants..
