      Absolutely agree.

If you like the comedy of South Park, yes. But if you think intercourse with a baby is grotesque maybe not.

You beat me to it. I've just booked for Tuesday the 28th and we got B 5/6 in the Dress Circle. Already seen this show once here and I loved it.

    • Good on you. Yeah, I think it gets better on repeated viewing. The song "Turn it off" keeps playing in my head recently :-)

hmmm, Freud would have great fun with that one. The songs were actually really good, but I thought the show was also very cleverly put together.

        • Oh yes. Elder McKinley (played by Rowan Witt) who does this number is such an amazing actor. And not to mention Nabalungi (Zahra Newman) singing Sal Tlay Ka Siti … its mesmerising.

  • I got tickets from the last deal for this Saturday I'm selling because I can't go :(

    If anyone is interested

    • Yours are great seats. And looks like you are not even charging the handling fee. Hope you have a taker.

Thanks. They are great seats. I booked them quickly in the previous deal. Just as luck would have it's now the one day I now can't go!!

  • sold out ? I cant seem to book

    • I've been able to locate tickets for December 3rd just testing then. Have you actually got a sign-in for Last Tix and is it showing Last Tix as the ticket type? Maybe you need to try a different day.

    • Can you elaborate? It seems fine, I just checked.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful, since it sounds like the actual buying, so I cannot do this step. Besides I am on the desktop.

Thanks OP! Just bought tickets for this Sunday night!

Thanks bluesky. Bought Wed night. Seats offered tended to be on, or near edges. Retired several times. Best was seats 6&7 which I took.
Did any one find a theatre guru type seat map showing better value seats?
Did any one find a 3D walk through for the Princess Theatre in Melbourne?

    • Hi BlueSkyHarvest, not much info at the official theatre website about the seating, or how views are from various positions.
I did find this clip, that shows the interior, it might give you a rough idea only.

Just curious, did you book in Stalls or Dress Circle?

All I know is if seats 6&7 in the first few rows of Stalls, I would have ear plugs ready, for the very loud moments. That is because the speakers is right at the front corner. But I think for this offer, based on random searches, I did not see very front rows of Stalls, so this would not be a problem.

      Hope this helps.

      • Picked Grand Circle - above the dress circle. Could get 3rd row back. I read that grand circle has a higher pitch - so shorter persons are more likely to be able to see over the people in front. Apparently the rise of stall and dress circle is only slight. Noted that for well back in Grand Circle there are seats for only $40.

        • I heard it's like level 3 looking down? Going through insta hoping to see what the view is like.

        • Never sat there before. But it would be high up looking down as Anastasia said. You could be right though, the chances of being blocked by someone in front is slimmer.

We were row E dead front in the stalls and it was loud but not unbearably so. I’m also 152cm tall so I was bobbing around a little to see all the way down to the stage but not bad compared to how I normally do. TripAdvisor has some interior pictures. Have a Google around.

        • If you are somewhere in the middle, rather than the left/right edge, you should be fine as far as loudness goes. Seats 6&7 in the front stall rows are at the leftmost edge, directly in front of the speaker. Its the numbering system, the first few rows start with 5 at the edge.

        • @bluesky: ahh, that would explain it. Sorry for my dimness :)

        • @try2bhelpful: Nah, it's just the non-intuitive numbering system, who could have guessed? Also first row is B :-)

        • @bluesky: yeah, I found that out on the night. We thought we were a row back than we were, we had a real "Uh Oh" moment when we looked at the stage, but it actually wasn't too bad.(Live IMAX moment) Also the first two rows seem to be a bit closer together, so I would try to avoid row C as well. I wonder if they enlarged the orchestra pit at some time?

        • @try2bhelpful: Yes, I think depending on the show, they can put back or remove a row. They can remove the orchestra pit also, for Jersey Boys, the musicians were on a platform inside the stage space. Your row was kind of in the sweet spot.

@bluesky: Originally I wanted something a bit further back, but being that close made the energy levels seem higher and you got a good look at their facial expressions. I can certainly tell you they worked up a hell of a sweat during the performance. Will be interesting to see how this compares to the Dress Circle.

        • @try2bhelpful: For this small theatre, it is quite good at the front of Dress Circle. But for a large theatre, say the Regent, it is quite far away. Some like DC since you can take in the entire stage, so it is good for magnificent stage productions. My personal preference is still the Stalls front few rows. As you said, like Live IMAX :-) Can discern the minute facial expressions and gestures. And also get to hear their natural voices (rather than mostly through speakers). It is a trade-off, I guess.

@bluesky: Excellent points. I've seem a number of productions at the Prinny and near the front of the stalls or the front half of the Dress Circle are the best. The Regent was designed as a prestige picture palace with big screens; so the auditorium is large and the wings are small. You don't want to get the back of the stalls at Her Maj or you lose the top of the Proscenium with the overhang. Saw Cats there and lost what was happening above the stage.

Saw a production of "Arcadia" in San Francisco several years ago. We bought tickets at the last minute and we must've got house seats. The box office guy said we were the luckiest people he knew. On the aisle a few rows back from the stage. It was just magic.
