Thanks for all your efforts! Battlefront II is already at $49 - all the negative publicity has obviously had an impact!

      • +9

        Catalogue starts on the 30th.

@jv: That's being a bit pedantic. It's obvious he didn't mean already on the website, but meant the price had dropped a lot.

Thanks for all your efforts! JV is already at -14 votes - all the negativity has obviously had an impact!

          @Firefly: -20 and dropping.. Lol

        • @jv:
          People just love negging JV.

The more negs means bigger compliment

        • +2

@lovepub: Only JV can pull off over 200 negs in just 3 comments well :)

@jv: Nothing to be proud of, have another neg.

    • +3

I can see it at $40 or possibly even lower a couple weeks out before Christmas as EA and Disney try to recoup their losses .

      • +1

I would probably consider it at $29.

        • +14

That game is not even worth it at $29. EA can go (profanity) themselves.

        • @Dinked Her Sphincter:
Why is this game getting a lot of hate? I never played the first. Is it something to do with dlc?

        • -2

@DonaldDr4per: They had a pay to win scheme but EA removed it before launch. It's actually a really good game :)

        • @DonaldDr4per: It's a full price game with mobile game mechanics including so called lootboxes which are carefully constructed to hook and addict people in the same way poker machines do.

Sounds like a great gift for the kids after they've eaten Star Wars themed poison at McDonalds. Isn't Star Wars great, here have some more Star Wars breakfast cereal.

        • @Diji1:
I thought they would have stopped this as they have been blasted beforehand about this behaviour haven't they?. Do they think people forget or something? Or is it hooking kids in?

        • @DonaldDr4per: well ever since fifa 09. Which released in 2008. Gambling has been the core mechanics of EA's buisness model. Their ultimate team in fifa is the biggest cash grab/pay2win in history. I personally refuse to by any games published by EA. They should not have the right to turn console/pc games which you pay money to buy into microtransaction games like clash of clans on mobile.

        • +1

          @DonaldDr4per:
You pay $49 to own the game, then you have to play a good 4,258 hours to unlock all the characters available to you. That, or pay $2,100 on top of that $49 to get it. If that sounds like a good deal to you, I've also got a great piece of land on the moon I'd like to show you :)

      • Impossible now,

Look at my post below to see what they lost. they are in damage limitation.

    • where? today? most store are still selling $79

    • HN had it for $49 on for it's release day.

      • +2

HN had it for 59 on launch

    • +6

Don't but it though. Although they temporarily removed the loot box gambling they said it will be reintroduced (probably after the movie comes out).

    • +4

I wonder if they're feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment yet?

    • +1

Certainly has share price alone took nearly 10% over this, They have apparently removed all micro transactions (didn't buy when i saw all the crap going on with it) and left the reduced rates for in game credits through grinding, to make things easier to access.

Some were dropped by over 75%

it did indicate this would be a honeymoon period while they work out a fair system for micro transactions which is jut crap really when you buy a supposedly finished game for what was $100, and they still want to get money out of of you.

Also first Reddit to hit 500,000 negs taking any plus and minus into account previous record was -5 i thought they said

    • +1

Unfortunately this was priced incorrectly in the catalogue and shouldn't have been $49. The correct price will be $79 from the 30th November.

An apology will be displayed in store.

Sorry for getting peoples hopes up

NEWS JUST IN - The price is going to stay at $49 for Star Wars Battlefront 2 from Thursday 30/11.

          Yes it is…

    • +6

Perfect opportunity to continue not buying it.

    • I just sold my bundled copy for 50. I knew I'd get it for 50 if I listed it for 60, even though Big W had it for 49. And I don't even feel that guilty about it.

What a (profanity) joke. This is getting stupid!

      • +9

        Fake news?

this is all one big huge beat-up over nothing as a quick Google or search on BIG W’s own site, reveals a plethora of trees and other paraphernalia absolutely covered in the word “Christmas”.

    • -3

      Please, please, please boycott!

Less competition for the rest of us bargain seekers that won't.

I mean they're idiotic, but so is boycotting bargains.

      • +12

Last thing we want is BIGW going bust.

Cheap Kmart and Target shit isn’t for everyone.

        • Don't worry, they aren't going to go bust selling bargains because a few Pauline Hanson supporters decide the political correctness gone mad is a reason to boycott. None of those bargains will fail to clear out.

    • +7

Kay Cafarella said she was “offended”, describing it as “racism to the extreme”.

    Any bargains?

  • +1

I guess the good Xbox One S deals are done.

    • Seriously?

      359 for a 1tb console and 4 games isn't a good deal?

Where the hell are you seeing better than that?

      • I mean those games are all okay but I'd rather save $100 than get three extra okay games. You could buy two really good games instead with the savings.

        • +1

          Well you ARE.
          And then getting free games.

          RRP for a 1tb console is $459.

          https://ebgames.com.au/xbox-one-217310-Xbox-One-S-1TB-Consol…

        • I plug a 4TB usb 3 drive into it anyway, so the internal spec 500gb/1000gb doesn't really matter.

        • +1

@timps: I think what AustriaBargain is trying to say is a 500gb variant normally goes for around $269 with some good games so saving online by buying that then replacing the internal HDD is a better option since you can easily get hard drives for around $30-40 a terabyte easily on good deals.

        • Repacing internal xbox drive requires engineering degree to reformat ….not like ps4 which is easy.

        • +1

@garage sale: ya, but hooking up an external drive to the 'bone is easy and very well supported.

  • Major thanks TA a huge effort your a ⭐

  • What the hell, I had to import those pink and green joycons from Japan for ~$100.and now they're out (unannounced) in December, like 5 months after splatoons release. That logic

    • It was announced for Australia in early October (https://www.vooks.net/splatoon-2-green-pink-joy-con-combo-no…) but you're right - still after Splatoon 2's release, I was expecting them with the game and was disappointed at that time thinking it was not coming here. Nearly imported them but I held off because I thought that it was weird as hell we wouldn't be getting them. No idea what the reason was behind the delay.

      • Well at least you get rewarded for not caving in like yours truly 😜

  • Looks like some good bargains!

  • legitimate question: has anyone used that "turbo scrubber" cleaning device on page 33?

I always stay away from those late night danoz type products, however i Looked up some quick youtube videos and the feedback seems to be pretty positive.

Looks like it would make scrubbing the shower a much easier task!

    • +1

I haven’t used one but the logic behind it is sound but it’s more or less just a glorified scrubbing brush; things to look out for would be using bleach and that potentially spraying (edit; the spinning action of the bristles spraying it or flicking it per say) on fabric or stainable surfaces, so I’d be inclined to just use disinfectant instead and also just let the motor do the work and not press too hard as if the brushes deform replacement heads could be unavailable or expensive.

My thoughts would be for someone with sore wrists say with rheumatoid or something it might be okay but it seems fairly exxy for what it really is.

      • i was thinking, why not just attach a brush head to my cordless drill, as its essentially the same thing. looks like bunnings is here to help!

        https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range/tools/tool-accessories…

        • Well, yeah. A couple of issues might be that the water could get into the drill, but I guess it depends on how much you care about your drill, the other issue would be using something too abrasive on tiles or similar in a bathroom and lastly if you accidentally slip it’s possible that the drill could damage tiles. But yeah, I agree it’s more or less essentially the same concept. If you do go down that road please tell us how you go.

    • +1

I have one. Useless — I'm sure it does a much worse job than a quick once over with a microfiber cloth. In fact, I tested this out by attempting to use it to take the grime off the shower glass, that way I could actually see what effect it was having. Barely any.

      • oh no. guess good old fashioned elbow work it is.

  • Fitbit Charge 2 $149! Use AMEX DJ offer and price match, $150 spend and get $30 back. Now what to buy for $1

  • Thanks so much for the post and the effort of scanning the pictures.

    • Hi Kerrie, my name is Scab and I like bargains.

  • Does BigW have a price guarantee policy? I bought BF2 on launch day for $62 from BigW - less than 2 weeks later it is $49

    • Does BigW have a price guarantee policy?

Yes, go up to the counter and tell them the codeword TIGHTARSE.

      • ok, to confirm. walk up to the counter in BigW with my BF2 disc in my had shouting tightarse, tightarse…..got it!

        • I was going to say it's more to make a point, not the $13… but what the heck, Tightarse it is!

Xbox One Bundle with 4 games for $359 - on the catalogue it is advertised as 1TB, but on the website it is the 500GB console.

    • HA!
Few minutes later, and the issue has been resolved.
      it is now 1TB.
