    inb4 the overheating comment

but it's true. It's scarily warm to touch.

(I have the 128gb in my Surface Pro4)

mine died. It was 2 years old but rarely used

      • Agree the heat generated is a concern. It becomes too hot to touch within a minutes of use and I'm always worried that its going to break the USB port. I'm assuming it's within the USB standard but still choose carefully if you're going to have this thing plugged in all the time.

        • Get the Samsung Ultra Fit instead. Ordered it not long ago from eBay.

Performance is also bottlenecked due to heat. Speeds drop to USB 2.0 speeds after a few seconds of heavy use.

      • Any suggestions on small physical size USB 3.0 for use on nVidia Shield TV as adopted storage? I have one of these Ultra Fit's but don't use it because of heat concerns and poor performance. Looking for something currently available.

        • I use the 128gb usb3 Samsung equivalent with no issues :)

        • @086: I was aware of the Samsung but haven't really seen it much in Australia. Suggested retailers?

        • @norkle:
I got mine from MyMemory on sale
          Amazon is another option.

      Use shipster = free postage.

      • Did not work for me. I don't wanna be paying nearly 15 bucks for shipping

        • +1

          I think it's minimum $25 spend.

  • Got the 64GB one a few months ago for $19 from centrecom but I think they are on clearance.

  • Cheers OP - combined the Amex HN cashback deal and Shipster for an effective $36 delivered for the 128GB drive ;)

    Over 170 stores!
Not a single one(Vic) has pickup available.
    Typical HN.

    • +1

I picked up the 64gb one from JB hifi for the same price (price matched with HN without any drama) as i couldn't find a store in Victoria with stock.

  • +2

32GB is $16.95 from ebay with free shipping.

  • Postage from HM is a killer for most of the deals, unless they have got local stock.
