To recognise the Institute of Public Affairs concerns of history courses across Australian Universities, i've put together a list of

  • biographies (inc. Benjamin Frankin, Abraham Lincon, Joseph Stalin)
  • classic authors (inc. Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Plato)
  • the enlightenment
  • programming (python)

Please double check prices to make sure the books are still free.
The original prices vary. If in doubt, check the link. Many of these books supposedly retail for about $3.99 each.
I've included a few books in different versions so you can choose which one is better (eg. Huck Finn).

this is the IPA's usual attempt to varnish themselves with a thin but adequate layer of credibility. Glad it gets the OzBargainers reading tho…

    • Probably the same Ozbargainers who support selling guns on the site!

Maybe most of them don't know what the IPA stands for.

      • Indian Pale Ale?

From what I recall, the IPA stands for getting a whole lot of oil dollars to espouse the ideals of the right wing of the Liberal party.

Holy formatting!! I'm sorry, this would probably be a great deal but at the moment it's borderline unreadable.

Many of these books retail for about $3.99 each
You should be able to get them for free indefinitely as the author has been dead for at least 50 (?) years and hence copyright no longer applies.

    Thanks OP

Make sure you check whether an audiobook is available too. Many of them are under $2, which is a bargain in itself.

  • Python Programming is a great read along the lines of How to Train Your Dragon. Great Christmas gift for kids!

  • Institute of Public Affairs! lol

How is the IPA's mate Don Burke going?

  • Thanks for putting this together although unfortunately "Plato: The Complete Works" is not a free eBook ($US1.10).

  • How do I save the python ebook to pdf from kindle cloud reader? It doesn't have the download option available in the library?
